"I've been in Thailand 13 years....blah, blah, blah".

Who gives a fucking rats arse how long you've been here mate?

You're one of those fucking spastics who hijacks conversations and quickly points out how hoofing he is when nobody is asking!

Why don't you just fuck off for a soapy massage if you're bored you fucking hat!

I'm pretty new to this Forum but I am quickly finding out it's full of fucking absolute dicks!

The only thing I've taken away from the above thread is 'Enjoy Life', which I was doing anyway until I established comms with you lot.

Any gripes, I'll be in the LadyBoy bars looking for dickface upstairs!!!!!!

I wonder if this conversation would develop the same way if the participants met face to face?

Ex military man, huh? Says it all.

Those them jobs that people do when they can't get any other job, right? The jobs that people do when they are academically disabled, yes?

Tongue in cheek with a mountain of truth. I was speaking as a 31 year old who grew up 5 minutes from Aldershot. The young recruits that I had the displeasure of meeting were numb nuts - every one of them. They weren't allowed in bars or nightclubs if they were found to be a squaddie due to constant physical assaults. Brain Dead Dropouts.

With this in mind, Deadpool's blind-rage aggressive post (after no cause) reminded me of the Aldershot Squaddies who would discolour my fair town of Fleet every weekend.

The uk army has become what temples are in Thailand. A place to go if you have nothing else. I'm aware this wasn't the case many moons ago.

Whilst Deadpool comes across as a complete tw@t and I suspect is somewhat wanting in the IQ department, tarring all "squaddies" or servicemen with the same brush a tad out of order also GLC. I have and have had several friends who either serve or have served in the armed forces and can certainly agree with sand_dancer's comments.

Yes, there are numerous muppets but aren't there also in many walks of life? The vast majority of the guys I have met are decent people, either looking towards improving their career prospects (Royal Engineers etc.), a new "family" (trust me, this is true) or simply the honour of protecting their country - something I'm very thankful for!!

I now live close to army barracks in the UK and have nothing but the utmost respect for the guys I have met and whilst there has been the occasional "incident" in town on the weekend, I can assure you that the vast majority of problems have been caused by the brainless pillocks with a thumb up their @rse and living off benefits......

Maybe I just met the wrong group of Squaddies. Probably a reason people affectionately refer to Aldershot as 'Aldershite'. My father was in the navy for many years. I work closely with two ex military men. One a Welshman, and one a Canadian (legionnaire). The latter is a stuck up, anal twat, the former a great chap.

Not tarring all with the same brush. Just can't get those Aldershot Squaddies out me head.

In response to the OP... scrap that, I've got nothing for him.

Giving some back to Thailand's servicemen/women

Post by Felipesed »

Modern armies are very technology-based, and while there is still a requirement for "bullet-stoppers", training nowadays is quite mentally demanding.

This is particularly true for Regiments like Royal Engineers, Signals, REME.

The advanced training at the RMCS, Shrivenham, is very demanding and easily higher than the usual BSc courses, especially from the technical colleges that have been transformed into 3rd-rate Universities.

The Officer training in Thailand in Chulachongklao Military Academy, Nakon Nayok is 5 years basic and very comprehensive.

I have no knowledge of the American military training but I assume there would be a similar high academic content.

It is definitely not true to suggest that military personnel are not intellectually capable.

Politicians, yes definitely!

Lunatics shouldn't post on this forum and if you are hyper-sensitive then you will only find cushing disappointment on any forum in Thailand.

Furthermore, this forum is one of the mildest, you try pulling this shit on some of the other forums in Thailand and check out the answers you get for starting such a thread...they will make these here look like 'kid gloves' or boy-scout replies.

Harden up Rambo. If you aren't happy to read a broad spectrum of replies then don't ask the question Dorothy, as the 'rabbit hole' is deep......

If you re-trace the steps of this post, you will see I created it with a good heart. It was not my intention for the post to go down this route and I was the first victim of negative and some slightly abusive responses. To that end, if I upset anybody or used offensive and fould language, my apologies are extended to you. I hope you choose to forgive.

I would like to say one thing though. For the people above who assume they anybody from 5-6 lines posted in a forum, please step back, re-assess and think about what you are going to write. I know I maybe lacked in that department before my choice of words but I at no stage did I assume I knew somebody's education status or how long they had spent in Thailand etc. For the haters, I do have an education and please believe me when I say that the unit I served was not a unit you found yourself in when you 'couldn't do anything else'.

Also, I love it when people start dropping the 'SAS' bomb or put 22 after their name, brilliant!
