High School in Hua Hin

Post by hhfarang »

We are moving to Hua Hin soon and have a 15 year old daughter who has completed the last four years of school in the United States. She will be ready for the tenth grade when we arrive.

Does anyone know of a good private school in or near Hua Hin where she can continue her education in English as well as Thai? We cannot afford the big international schools in Bangkok but I was told that there are private schools (some offer boarding) that were a little less but still good schools. A boarding school would be ok as long as it is affordable ($5000 U.S. per year or less) and is close enough to Hua Hin for her to come home on weekends.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Maybe you can get her a GED and get her enrolled in one of the international universities here in town.

There are four of which I am aware: The first three have programs
available that are taught entirely in English. The last three all have a Thai program.

Webster, American, Big $ , out off of Route 4, off campus housing

Stamford, Thai owned, somewhat less $, Top location, In Palm Hills golf course, has dorms and supervision

Silapakorn, branch of a state school in Bangkok, new intl program. Its close to Webster, has dorms too

Ratchamonkhon, a state school, West of Town, not sure on accomodations. This is mainly a Thai school that also teaches foreign language.

I have heard of several 16 year olds attending. Financial aid is available at Webster for at least Americans, Stamford offers some sort of scholarship. The state schools are able to compete on price with the two private schools. 8)

How far is Webster from the HH center? It's somewhere along the way to Cha-am, right?

Excuse me eavesdropping, but my thai girlfriend is keen to attend classes in English and German. She is 22 so would be a paying, further-education student, for either day or evening classes. I've been trying to get some info on appropriate colleges on the web to be of some help, but have so far failed !

Any tips welcome. Cheers.

The schools don't usually take outsiders. You could try to get her private lessons. There are plenty of capable English teachers (don't know about German) available in HH.

Post by dr. mark »

University of Phoenix has a high school program on line that is very affordable.
I want to start an international school in Hua Hin linked to the universities, so please keep in touch.
