The Thailand Photo Thread

Post by buksida »

Ok, here it is, this isn't a competition - just a place to post your photos around the Kingdom. Please add a short description also so others know where and what the image is and stick to Thailand only photos. Also try to have just one photo per post to keep the thread flowing, you can post more than once and discussion and comments on photos is also good.

If you can't already upload photos to the board you need to join this usergroup and permission will be granted. Else you can link to images stored on third party sites such as Flikr.

Please keep images to 800x600 or less - www.shrinkpictures.com will help you resize them if you don't know how.

To upload images to the board if you have permission you'll need to use this:
Image

Click "UploadPic" and a small window will popup enabling you to upload your image. Once you have browsed your hard disk, located and uploaded your image, click "Send" and it will appear in the popup box, then click "Standard" and it will be inserted into your post.

Look forward to seeing this one go!

I'll kick it off with this shot which was taken at a small island called Koh Ngam Noi off the coast of Chumphon. Its amazing where people will build homes, can't imagine it to be too much fun in the rainy season though!

This is Phanom Rung, a Khmer temple in Buriram that I’ve visited several times as it’s not too far from our house in Nong Ki.
It’s situated about 12 km south of the Nang Rong to Prakon Chai highway and quite easy to reach by road. It was built between 700 and 1000 years ago when the Khmer empire extended into much of Thailand and is situated 1,300 feet up on top of an extinct volcano.
This photo only shows the main tower, but the whole site is much larger with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.

These water babies are from a village north east of Khon Kaen. Taken 2 years ago

The chubby one is called Dan. I call him Desperate Dan. He's only 5 and now weighs in at 60kgs!! Thailand's answer to Sumo wrestling me thinks

Took great delight when my bathroom overflowed and went into Songkran modeImage

A view from Wat Thang Sai in Baan Krut. This was taken on the inaugural journey of the Jazz Train. Beautiful temple & beautiful place.

And this is Wat Thang Sai, itself.

Heres a shot of the bridge over the river Kwai getting blown up again. This commemorative festival is quite a spectacle and is held in Kanchanaburi in November.

I like that Buksida; it looks like a scene from Apocalypse Now.
