Just returned from Imm with another year's extension. In and out in 40 minutes which was pleasant surprise.
I don't recall anyone else reporting on this yet, but there was no mention of the horrible three letter word beginning with "t" and ending with "x" today which was a major relief.

No, it’s not on their radar…….yet
Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
I read the other day that an extension has been granted to submit tax returns, so until the final date is confirmed, they couldn't ask for anything anyway - not that I think they will.

If there's nothing to declare then there's no reason to.
Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
Except for yourself I do not know anybody who has done the income tax thing - all have agreed with me that we are only liable if monies were earned in Thailand and nothing to do with bringing taxed savings into Thailand for household living purposes.
Courage is grace under pressure and when circumstances change you change your mind.
Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
So, do you have to declare even if you're not liable?
Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
I know quite a few that have filed their returns. I think the total amount of tax collected was 300฿. However, it hasn't gone away yet - the notice I saw a few days ago, detailed the extended dates, stating they will start fining after that - who knows? It will be one hell of a job for them to actually do it.
We need to get this thread back to visas i.e. we already have a tax thread - here's hoping they don't become inter-related.

BB, you're joking aren't you?
The biggest potential change in getting a renewal could have been to do with some tax clearance.
Well, it didn't happen today.
I reckon that's a big thing.

And to do with visas.
Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
It is a veiled threat, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
The reason I said
was because I had drifted from visas and on to extended deadlines for submitting tax returns, and the subseqent threat of fines for non-compliance. If they've moved the tax deadline to the right, even if they were intending to use tax as a requirement for visa extension, they can't enforce anything until the tax deadline has passed. Therefore submission of tax returns can have nothing to do with visa extensions at this point in time.

Gobblebegook,
I'll take the punishments here if I need to.

Not Gobbledsgook. How can they enforce something that they haven't finished collecting this year? Everybody would have the same excuse - my tax return is being processed now.

I haven't been to the tax office yet and will be armed with my other half when I do!

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
My extension based on retirement was set to expire on 29 June 2025, but I recently had a death in my family back in the U.S.A. and I want to attend the funeral. I talked with Phetchaburi Immigration and they said that under special circumstances I could renew it 45 days before the expiration date.
I actually did three actions at Phetchaburi Immigration today:
1. Obtained a new retirement extension date of 29 June 2026.
2. Obtained a reentry permit valid until 29 June 2026.
3. Submitted a 90-day report - as my 90 days were set to expire before I would leave on my trip.
I was at Immigration for approximately 45 minutes, and was very pleased with their service.
First, I arrived at the Bangkok Bank in Cha-Am at 08:30. I requested the two documents required for Immigration using the 800,000 baht in the bank method. The bank knew exactly what to do and provided me with the two documents. The bank also updated my passbook, and at my request made a copy of the last page for me showing a transaction on 20 May. The cost was 200 baht. Excellent service.
At the Immigration office there was nothing about taxes.
I submitted the following to Immigration:
1. A completed TM 7 Form with a picture.
2. My passport, and a signed copy of each page that had data on it.
3. The two Bangkok Bank documents.
4. My Bangkok Bank passbook, and a signed copy of each page of the passbook.
5. I am married to a Thai woman and we own a house.
(a) A signed copy of my wife’s ID card – wife’s signature;
(b) A signed copy of the Bluebook – wife’s signature;
(c) A hand drawn map showing the location of our house – both of our signatures.
6. A 1900-baht fee.
The reentry permit cost an additional 1000 baht.
