90 day reporting

Post by vistana »

Sorry its probably asked many times before and the search function didn't help but I have to do my 90 day reporting on the 30th October but I seem to remember reading somewhere you can do it up to 7 or 15 days before or after the due date.... can anyone help me out with and confirm which one it is?

Thanks very much

Yes it has been mentioned many times before, but..........it's 15 days before and up to 7 days after.

Different stories again from Immigration :banghead: :banghead:

My next report is 5th Jan. Was told (advised) to do within 15 days before. When I asked about 7 days after I was advised 'no'. Maybe the officer was advising me that it was preferable to do earlier rather than later though

I think I went the same day as you did, Richard. However, I was 5 days over but was fine. 7 days is the allowable time after.

We're talking about 90 day reporting, not visas. When staying here for more than 90 days, then you have to report to immigration every 90 days confirming your address. Nothing to do with visas. That's a separate issue.

so I could then just renew my visa every 90 days forever? wouldn't this circumvent the money requirements needed for an OA visa? sounds like a plan to me

Your visa expires after a year so you can't get around renewing it with just 90 day reporting. If you tried it they would catch you as the visa states the date it expires. I am referring to retirement visa.

A tip is to go online at the Thai Immigration site and download the forms necessary for 90 report and Visa Renewal. You can fill them in on computer and print out at home and save time at Immigration. Looks much better too. I have saved mine in Word and just correct the dates on them and print out for use.

A visa, by the very nature of it, needs to be applied for at a Thai Embassy or consulate outside of the country - other than in certain circumstances such as upgrading.
You could get back-to-back single entry O visas for as many times as you want but you'd have to qualify and leave the country every 90 days to get the visa and there's no guarantee, after you've done it "so many times", that the embassy/consulate would give you one. They'd be more likely to eventually tell you to apply for an annual extension.
At that stage, you need to show funds etc but there's no need to leave the country. However, you need to report to Imm every 90 days as has been said above.
90 days is the norm. A 60 day tourist visa can be extended by 30 = 90 days. A single entry O visa is good for 90 days. An annual extension is obviously valid for a year but you've got to report every 90 days.
Always 90 days somewhere in the equation.

I'm going to time my 90 day reporting visit to IMM. I swear my last one was less than 10 mins.

I can't remember the last time I went myself. Mrs D-M pops in on her way into town.

Thanks again all. I'll probably do the 90 day until I figure out where I really want to live. This next time over I will make sure I attend the trivia contest and meet the likes of you.
