Exactly, it’s the first increase in 5 years amounting to just under 10% - hardly massive!!thecolonel wrote:Typical 'shock' headlines ie clickbait

Re: Renewing a UK passport in Thailand
While I have a new passport renewal in progress can I use my old, not out of date passport, to renew my Retirement Extension & do a 90 day report if the new passport is not returned in time .
Re: Renewing a UK passport in Thailand
As far as I know, they will only issue the visa to the date your passport expires if you have less than a year on it.

Correct. I renewed whilst waiting for my new passport. It was only renewed up to the passport's expiry date. Had to do the procedure again with my new passport.
The problem is that if your new passport arrives later than your extension date, then you may have to start the whole process from scratch as you will be on 'overstay' i.e. new 'non-O' etc etc.

Being cautious I will renew in the begining of September& should get new passport back by end December which is when I renew. Passport runs out in November 2024 so I should be ok either way

Is Anna Visa Services on Soi 94 still a good option for renewing a UK passport? My son's expires soon and I don't fancy two trips to Bangkok.

On a slightly different tack, I saw that UK Visa Services had moved from Trendy House. Has passport renewal moved as well?

As of January this year, they hadn't.
I had an appointment at Trendy about the 17th to renew mine but was called back to the UK urgently and did the renewal there.

And very surprised but very pleased to hear that they turned it around so quickly - it wasn’t long ago that people were waiting 4 months or more!!lomuamart wrote:As of January this year, they hadn't.

This is the announcement I was referring to (I now see it doesn't come into play for a couple of days). If HMPO means passport, I guess they will be moving soon.
