hit and run

Post by philip »

my g/f parked her moto outside the shopping mall in HH and returned to fid that a Thai guy had run into it and inflicted several thousand baht of damage. The guy apparently told her he would pay to have it fixed, but buggered-off without leaving a contact name, address or number. It goes without saying that the damaged bike has had to be repaired without recompense from the perpetrator, possibly a common occurence.

Does anyone know if insurance is possible for such circumstances and if so via whom ? Are the Insurers respectable ? Is it worth the candy in a situation like this ? In the UK, every vehicle driver must be insured (although there is an increasing incidence of insurance-avoiders). Thailand ain't the UK, but this is an unpleasant incident. I would love to confront the person responsible.....

The standard insurance only covers hospital fee for the person you hit up to 50000 i think, or maybe only 20000. There are lots of private insurance companies many branches of western well known companies, in the past very good service they can get a rep to you in some case only twenty minutes Don"t move your vehicle, they talk to police and sort out everything on the spot well recommended
