Yes, we are under the 28 Province umbrella now, and these are the minimum restrictions to be applied from today. Local Governors can add what they feel necessary.

I presume "strict health screening of interprovincial passengers" means a temperature check at border roadblocks on the highway rather than an actual test?

Very good point, test them! Don't just wave a cheap useless contraption a few inches away from the side of their head because they are wearing a baseball cap!

I travelled to Hua Hin this morning from Cha Am before 9am and the checkpoint adjacent to Makro was unmanned - maybe they were still having breakfast?

Yes, I saw that last night. I didn't say anything because there have been a couple of other local cases that were eventually attributed elsewhere (seems to be attributed to where they are hospitalised).

This still has to be confirmed formally.

Again I ask how can an entire family of four get through all the testing and precautions before they boarded a plane? Again I think this may be a case of dead virus being present. We'll never know though as they will never report it as such if correct. They now want to ban all British visitors. :banghead:

British visitors to be barred from entry

The Ministry of Public Health will ask the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) to defer the entry of British visitors to the country after the fast-spreading B117 strain of Covid-19 was found in four British nationals entering Thailand on Dec 21.....

The number does appear on today's national graphic so I agree. Confirmed.

And mentioned in Daily brief as justification for putting Prachuap into the Red Zone yesterday. So they obviously have an impressive Crystal Ball at the CCSA.

No surprise here, but Thailand is buying Chinese vaccines ...

Thailand to get 2 million shots of China’s Sinovac
Thailand will get its first lot of Covid-19 vaccines from China’s Sinovac Biotech Ltd next month, allowing the country in the middle of a resurgence of the coronavirus outbreak to begin inoculating people with the highest risks for infections.

The Chinese vaccine in three batches, with the first 200,000 doses arriving in February, 800,000 in March, and another 1 million in April, according to the Health Ministry. Thailand has also started local production of vaccines developed by AstraZeneca Plc under a technology transfer agreement, which is expected to be ready for distribution in May, the ministry said.

What is the population of Thailand again?

Anybody want's to do the maths on how long it will take to vaccinate 70 million population!!!

Thailand has started production of the Oxford vaccine available around May but I haven't seen the numbers or speed of production.

With 2 million coming from China, the Oxford production planned for distribution around May and the government expects to vaccinate 33 million people by the end of the year.

Believable??

The Hua Hin Covid-19 FB page ( has a timeline of the lady in question.

On Saturday, 2nd Jan, she had a dry cough so went to HHH for a test. When she left the hospital at 10am it must have seemed like a good idea to go visit friends in police housing in Khao Noi. Then in the evening she and others went to market village, visiting Home Pro and Lotus; masks were worn. After this they also briefly visited Big C.

Does anybody else find it suspicious that they've been excluding stats from migrant workers, but on the day this (sort of) lockdown occurs, the migrant worker is added as a big number?

Stats are often manipulated, but it seems to me they've been held back to provide a bit of shock & awe to the introduction of the lockdown.
