I just re-read the original postingi n this thread--BB on Jan 24th.
It is interesting that you wrote about your uncertainty about how you should behave BB, and that was in Jan when senior govt officials in many countries were denying that there was any problem. They obviously were not reading HHF!!!.

Just a couple of observations having spent the weekend in Hua Hin.

The shopping malls will want QR scanning and seem to be monitoring things but there was absolutely no social distancing going on at the soi 88 food court on Saturday. The place was rammed, exactly like the 'old normal', couldn't even get a table at some points in the evening, and they were very close to each other. Seven eleven staff will rail on you if you go try to go in there without a mask, they seem to be enjoying their new found power. Mask coverage (during the daytime) was pretty impressive overall with over 80% wearing them, at night nobody bothers.

Many of the hotels appeared to be closed but the traffic was horrendous as usual, took almost an hour to drive across the center of town, but I know - not Covid related.

I've been to MV several times (I was there yesterday) and although there was a book and QR code, I've only been shot by the temp gun then I just walk in. Never been challenged.
Can't comment on Bluport.
My local 7/11's only use the gun when they're not too busy and they have someone with nothing else to do. I religiously wear a mask but I've seen customers without masks. Only a few though.
On my last trip to BKK a couple of weeks ago, the 7/11 at the service station I visited on Rama II were not doing anything. No guns, no signing in and more than 50% of customers without masks.

It does appear that procedures are not carried out uniformly and most don't seem to bother.

I played my first pool league match on Friday since March. It's still technically illegal to play pool but it seems to be waived here. The police visited to remind the staff of midnight closing. Around 25 people in the bar with the match being played but nothing was said. No masks of course.

We stopped at a restaurateur in MV, today and and there was no sign in. My wife asked why and the waitress said, "What for?" There's a sign in when you enter MV. Thai logic.

That's not Thai logic. Smacks too much of common sense!
Checked into the building so why check again.

If someone in shop A was detected with corona virus are the authorities going to send a warning to everyone who entered market village but didn't enter shop A? It would be simpler to track the people who entered shop A without calling in 1000 people just because they entered MV.

That's just plain ridiculous. You'll be saying next that on entering an office block, every office should check you. Being checked into the building is enough. Your argument that failing a temp check in a shop after passing it in others makes tracing easier does not hold water. Found with a temperature in one shop does not preclude the rest of his activity around MV.

Think it through.

Anyway, shop A is not going to test you for covid. They can only do a temp check. If the person logged his contact details on entering the building, it's hardly going to change whilst he's in the building is it?

First of all, don't tell me what I'm going to say next. You don't know. Second, if someone has a high temperature in one shop, everyone who entered the shop after that person, could be contacted. Third, in an office building it's unlikely that someone would go to more than, maybe 3 or 4 offices whereas, in a mall, they may go to 10 or more shops, thereby increasing the chances of spreading an infection. Fourth, I didn't say that you were tested for covid. That's not possible without a swab. Fifth. Think it through.

I'm not going to waste my time arguing. Your statement is so full of holes but you'll think whatever you want to think.

I think we're confusing temp checks with Thai Chana. That app is supposed to track where you've been but is pretty much accepted as being useless. At the end of each day, there are over a million shoppers 'still in the stores'. If you're talking about Thai Chana then you're correct. If you're talking about temp checks and recording your contact details, well that's already done on entering MV.

Tracing using Thai Chana is next to useless.

It appears that although Thai Chana has been promoted as a 'track and trace' app, it seems it's not designed for that.
After a user checks in with the app, it will send an anonymous code to the server for collection, similar to when we swap a credit card. The system will not send our credit card numbers but it will send a code for safety reasons.

"The checked-in data will enable us to know places where people visit but we will not know who they are," he said. The data is used for displaying customer density at any given location.

"The Thai Chana app will collect data only when you check in and check out. It is a spot-checking app. It is not a contact tracing app,"
So it's wrongly promoted and is only of benefit in identifying 'crowd areas'.
