I don't live full time in Thailand as I work away but I maintain there a partner and a stepson, two houses,a small farm, a pickup truck, two motorbikes, four dogs and probably a couple more relations as well and if it cost me 200,000 a month, I wouldn't be doing it!image wrote:wow..200k baht a month..maybe my dreams over already..i was hoping 80k was enough if you own house, car...cook at home ok..no kids...1 dog...thai wife..but she is frugal..was hoping to play golf once a week..looks like i was dreaming:(
Plough your way through all 19 pages of the thread before you panic. And let's hope it's then allowed to die the natural death it so richly deserves.image wrote:wow..200k baht a month..maybe my dreams over already..i was hoping 80k was enough if you own house, car...cook at home ok..no kids...1 dog...thai wife..but she is frugal..was hoping to play golf once a week..looks like i was dreaming:(
Yes, there's not much point looking at the higher figures that some people have suggested on here. If you wanted to spend money, you could go down Soi Bintabaht and get nine girls and a transvestite and pay them to cut your lawn with nail scissors wearing bikinis. I know peoplke who are prepared to spend several thousand baht a day just so that they can look for a small white ball in undergrowth!image wrote:yeah actually..i just now noticed there was 19 pages..lol
I think they do that to raise their blood pressureSTEVE G wrote: I know peoplke who are prepared to spend several thousand baht a day just so that they can look for a small white ball in undergrowth!
I'm sure 60-80k should suffice, although are you sure about spending 15k on beer - that's about 20 cases of 24 small Singhas, i.e. about 16 cans a day!!!image wrote:ive done a budget with my wife..we reckon 60k gives you most things..including 15k on boxed beer..cook at home cheap..we are both chefs anyway....she needs alot of electric for air con...10k for running a car.(not sure if that's accurate or not)...if i want golf ..maybe 80k...i like looking for lil white balls...so funny the guy who started this left the conversation 4 months ago...happily living in mexico i hear:)
