Fishing lodge

Post by crazy88 »

Just a little note to say good luck to Terry with his project in Doha .Popped by the fishing lodge the other night for a couple of hours ,4 rohu between3-4.5 kg each a 2,5kg sawai and two giant siamese carp 7.5 and 8kg .Lost a couple of really good bites by not paying attention to the rod instead of the beer as well .One of the carp fought so hard I was convinced I would win the prize for the first 10kg+ .I.ll be back until I do .

Yep, its a great little spot up there, took the kids before Terry went off and also didn't pay much attention to the rod! The beast got away!

My biggest catch was one of those coconut trees to the right of the big pond! I know nothing about fishing but it's a great day out.

Will be back at the lodge this weekend for some R & R.

Can't believe that nobody has managed a 10Kg Cohor yet

Might have to catch it myself!

Hi Southswede.

The answer is yes.

We do not get that many fly-fishermen at the lodge. Fly fishing is not that common in Thailand but we have had 6 persons (To my certain knowledge) try it here.

Only one has succeeded and very well too. He landed 3 Pacu and one Rohu in under 2 hours and missed several other fish whilst at it!

So - it CAN be done - if you know what you are doing - with a bit of luck of course! Suggest you call us when you are here and arrange to get in early - around 6.30 - 7.00 is good - the fish rise well at this hour.

Alternatively from the 1st October we will be running our new boat (PLA YAI MEE TEE NAI) on Hua Hin Fishing Tours. The website is being updated now. We will run day trips to Pranburi Dam and Kaeng Krachan Dam - the latter including one or two nights optional stay.

Fly fishing one of these venues could be interesting.

Hope this helps :thumb:

Hi Southswede.

Very strange - I check my webmail several times a day and nothing has shown there as yet.

So it looks like HHAD is the fastest communication method around eh?

If you intend to fly fish, then YES, bring your own equipment. We have plenty of rods for hire if baiting.

Here's to your success

Just for the record - southswede paid us a couple of visits and successfully caught (using fly) on both occasions.

Pla Suwai on the first trip and a couple of Pacu on the second.
