used vehicle wanted
Hi I am looking for a 2 - 3 year old vehicle. Prefer Honda CRV. Toyota Wish, possibly Fortuner. Farang owned, with service records. Have cash.
Cheers

These are best deals I've seen in the net in Thailand so far. A farang-owned Fortuner
to the in-purchase price of a used car dealer. I'd go this way if I needed a car:

SJ
SJ, if you are the seller, you are making a very, very generous offer here.

Are you guys working together? If you haven't inspected the car, how do you know this?Farang wrote:SJ, if you are the seller, you are making a very, very generous offer here.

Based on a friend's recent sale, the Mazdas don't hold their value. Bought it for 1 million and sold for 600k after 2 years and it was in A1 condition. I think his was the 5 door 2ltr. Also said his Mazda 3 was uncomfortable, gutless and passengers tended to get car sick.
No, we are not working together. As far as I know, I've never even met SJ in person. I do not even know if SJ is
only joking or the real seller, but if he is, his price is damned good.
How do I know? By comparing the price of the Fortuner in question to other Fortuners of which, too, all I know is the price.
So I compared prices, nothing else. This was not a detailed technical report which I very pointedly point out.
Your second post on the Board, eh? Thank you for revealing so much about yourself in this post.

I quite agree it is a bit harsh, if ever so revealing, to express insinuations of foul play in one's very first words.dtaai-maai wrote:Huh? No comprendo. A bit harsh, I thought, farang.Farang wrote: Thank you for revealing so much about yourself in this post.

Hi Guys
Since I started this topic, I will throw in my 2 baht worth, and also let everyone know that I have located a vehicle. Unfortunatley the Fortuner and Mazda 3 Hatchback offered by the gent in the link provided by Super Joe were both spoken for or sold by the time I was able to contact him.
As "Farang" mentioned, and backed up with some preliminary asking price comparisons, the prices indeed looked pretty reasonable. I could not find anything that had as low a mileage in the same year vehicle and had asking price anywhere near those. I spent all day today motoring around Bangkok going to new and used car dealers, I didn't see a 2005 Fortuner under 800k. and when I test drove one, although quite plush and torquey, I felt that a smaller more nimble unit would suit our needs better.
CRV and Toyota Wish seem to hold their value well, and even older than 3 years were a bit more than I wanted to spend at this time. We ended up with a very nice 2007 Silver Gray Vios S, very low mileage and to me it looks good as new!!
So thanks to all of you for your input

Hi Gin Tonic,
I take it you are 'T' who rang me from Bangkok ? We had a few people round today, both cars are now gone, thanks for your call though and pleased you got yourself a nice car.
As hhfarang said, we do not know each other. To think people talk to each other on the internet in order to talk up a car is daft IMO.
Cheers,
SJ
