I just wish a bit more diversity was talked about here. I'm into everything from ELP ( ) to Enya (sort of, but it fitted). I think Clapton post Cream and certainly post John Mayall has not done a lot that is worthy, and I prefer Rory Gallagher (RIP) in any case. I've seen everything from Captain Beefheart to the last concert played by the original cast Beach Boys. I loved going to see Bob Kerrs whoopee band in Putney and Fulham and Hazel O'connor is the best live act I have ever seen, bar none.
I've watched punk, reggae, heavy/metal rock, the Bangles, Hot Chocolate, the Waterboys (fantastic), Pavarotti ('scuse spelling) and love local folkie and jazz bands and of course, Joan Baez (gawd knows how many times I have seen that lady in concert, its the voice you know).
I've enjoyed Hair (okay I was only 14 and had to have permission to go), Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita (Elaine Paige just staggering) and Miss Saigon amongst other musicals.
Its great to be able to enjoy a variety of music!
And now I have forgotten why I am posting this? This is a 'Post meeting in London' post, so I'll just gulp down another glass (bottle?) of wine instead!

the new album is growing on me but still not a patch on y& y manhood, imho
out of the of current bands i would opt for foofighters & velvet revolver.
also some good new bands on the rock scene are jaded sun, black stone cherry, airborne, the answer & voodoo six.
all have been doing the festivals & supporting the bigger bands tours over the summer

I thought Aha shake was better than Y+Y M, and Because of the Times was a huge Grower, as is the newest 1, I've had it for about 6 weeks
All good albums and completely different which is good.
Outside that I'm a big big fan of Jack White, the last White Stripes album was Awesome and the Raconteurs are a brilliant band.
The best musician of this generation for me.
Seen alot of live acts from KOL, Strokes, Muse, Arcade Fire, Foos, Oasis, Prodigy, Bloc Party, Editors, Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, Neil Young, Bowie, Dylan, Pistols but Jack White is the best musician I've seen by far.
Seeing as how I've been chased out of the bedroom by these PAD people and their television, I thought I'd look at John Martyn again.
