I’ve got absolutely nothing against other people doing the dishes by hand, but if I had to do them myself I would get a dish-washer.
The best thing that I remember about them is that it gives you somewhere to hide the dirty dishes from breakfast before you have to dash off to work at some ungodly hour.
Actually I’m not the best person to pass comment on domestic affairs as I spend my whole life either working away from home and living in hotels or being looked after by my partner whilst in Thailand!

And now we have been liberated and our feet unbound, thats why we have dishwashers.

(plus it saves the arguments as to whose turn it is)

Ooooh you lazy buggers!

I wont have one ever....bad for the environment as they use lots more water and detergents than a simple two sink wash n rinse and dont use the best dishwashing machines of all....hands. ;-)

In a place where the water table is already getting screwed up we shouldnt be encouraging them

Like Randy I find washing the pots quite therapeutic in a zen sort of way....also buys mucho kudos with Mrs S :thumb:

Real men not only eat quiche , they also cook and wash up .

They only unbind their women when they(the men) have finished fishing .

I agree with a lot of the posters. I never had a dishwasher in the UK and I wouldn't want one here. However, the OP must have impaired sight. They can be found in many places, even in HH. My wife was looking at a new washing machine in Big Kiang until I pointed out it was a dishwasher. She couldn't understand why you would buy a machine to wash dishes.

Home-pro, Index, Big Kiang and many more places sell them for sure.

Why no Dishwashers

Post by margaretcarnes »

The problem with dishwashers, is that you need 4 times as many of everything to last until the machine is full enough to make it worthwhile running a full cycle. Otherwise the one good kitchen knife is always in the machine when you need it!
OK maybe for big busy families. Waste of time for only a couple of people IMO. Then theres the cost of water and electricity.
Him Indoors is quite happy to do the dishes, and times the chore to coincide with the twice a day hot water boost. Keeps his nails nice and clean, and preserves mine too!
