Guess most have heard about Seve's battle with a brain tumour. One of the most amazing guys ever to touch a club and an awesome ambassador for the game. Followed him on many occasions and he always made a point of acknowledging the fans, particularly on the tee box - he really made us all feel that we had connected in a small way. His god given talent made him one of the greatest ever to watch and allied to his knack of making a not too difficult shot look really tough made him loved the golf world over.
Never forget taking my mam to see the Open at Birkdale think it was '88 - she clapped eyes on hm and got real weak at the knees "God he's gorgeous" was all she could say - we watched him all the way in and he knew he had scored in new fan! Its a memory of mam I will never forget!
Anyway my thoughts and prayers are with Seve now and i hope he makes a full recovery from this and continues to be one golfs greatest heroes.
Seve - my mams hero!
Good news -
Seve Ballesteros could be moved out of intensive care as soon as next week, according to the hospital treating the five-time Major winner.
Ballesteros was diagnosed with a brain tumour at La Paz hospital after losing consciousness at Madrid Airport early last month.
The Spaniard underwent a lengthy operation on October 24 to reduce pressure on his brain caused by an edema and to remove remaining tumour tissues following two previous operations.
He was moved to the hospital's intensive care unit following the treatment.
The hospital released a statement saying that Ballesteros, 51, is continuing to respond well to treatment and could move out of intensive care next week.
It read: "The neurological evolution of the patient Mr Severiano Ballesteros remains favourable. He continues to receive rehabilitative treatment and it is likely that he could leave the Intensive Care Unit next week and be moved to another ward."
