Thanks for that spitfire, that's somewhere between 10,000 and 12,000 pounds sterling. Something for me to consider when I return permanently after the damned credit crunch... :cuss:

How much are they in the UK Randy,

Reason I ask is last time my mother tipped up here she said these trucks are available in the UK but they are about 17,000 pounds etc, not sure because she's very old now, wondering if you know?

WOW, pickups are still a good deal here, unlike many/most cars etc.

Still better off with a pickup in LOS(price-wise). Roads can still be a bit shady.

Also, the second hand market is getting more conducive all the time for pickups(many have traded them in recently).

Speaks for itself.

 Randy, nice one.

Prices of pickups in Thailand.

I might not have all the facts 100% accurate but this is why they are so cheap compared to saloon cars.

It's all to do with tax.

Cars are cars and are taxed according to engine size and source of supply - those being built locally attracting less tax.

Pickup trucks are classed as agricultural or working vehicles - thereby attracting less tax.

A few years back, all the pickup manufacturers were not offering the 4 door double cab as options - why? - because the Thai Government could not decide whether a 4 door pickup should be taxed as a car or a truck. It was decide that it is a truck and not a car. The tax level was appropriately made and suddenly all the manufacturers were turning out double cabs galore.

That is why - say - a Honda Civic 1.8 Saloon will cost you about THB 900,000 depending on options and a 3ltr 4WD double cab pickup will cost you about THB 900,000 also - depending on options.

Just why a farmer needs a 3ltr, leather seated, 3 million dB Hi Fi systemed, Sat Nav'd truck is beyond me tho!!!!!

T.I.T.
