Info on property developer
I visited Hua Hin a couple of years ago and spoke to a guy bulding some houses at the top of the Soi where the Immigration Office is now, I think it was called The Hill Village.
He was going to build some more further down the Soi and I would like to get in touch with him. I think he was called ab, a+b or a plus b property, but I am not 100% sure.
Does anyone know who I am taking about, t would be great if anyone might have his contact details.
This is my first post, hope it's ok to ask this.
Thanks

Hua Hin Hill Village
I'm shopping for houses in Hua Hin at the moment. Went to check out Hua Hin Hill Village and think that they have the best deal for my budget. [ Details edited - it does read like an ad! ]

Don't worry chaps, there's only about 2-3 years of this left to go. You won't be able to get enough of it by then!!
By the way whatever project (don't know if it's this one mentioned) that built the immigration office on their site was ahead of the curve. Wise move.
Thinking of putting a drive-through McD's with free Big Mac's at the entrance of mine, good move ??

may i suggest stuff the add ons....a decent road would be good enough for me. Good clean water, leccy that stays on 24/7, phone lines in, a modicum of site security, and houses that are built so you dont look out of your windows directly into someone elses..... y got me as a customer.
When I buy the 6x6 big wheel Russian assault vehicle i will buy a house at the end of 102.....

Last week I had to travel up soi 102 for my 90 day.
I would NEVER buy out there. .not for any price!
Three months ago I did not think that the road could get worse. .well it DID!
I would rate it impassable on a motorcycle, especially after a rain, very difficult driving in a car and just a horrible experience. (I drove about 5 mph most of the way and I kept waiting for my suspension or wheels to break.)
You ease into one big hole and then into another. .you cant avoid them and I cant imagine owning any type vehicle that would allow you to traverse this road every day and keep your sanity. ( Even a tank or assault vehicle would give you a very rough ride. .and you would never get around all the dump trucks!)

Yeah, I had to go up to immigration yesterday. The last time I went (3 months ago) the road was a little better than I remembered from earlier visits because they had dumped a few loads of gravel into the potholes but this time it was back to it's worst.
It's too bad to because there are a couple of very good quality Thai developers building up there and I'm sure the road is affecting their sales.

There are places like that out there mate. Some developers concrete the governments roads for them, buy transformers to be supplied directly for the overhead 11,000 Volt elec instead of sharing with the rest of the area, put their own wells in to give reliable clean water, pay the electric company to put up street lights they should be putting up anyway, space the houses out even though it means losing a couple, put drainage around all the houses connected to the local stream for when it buckets down.sandman67 wrote:SJ

Some do, many don't.

That's right SJ,
My house is standalone, not in a project, and I had to buy a transformer from the electric company at the cost of a quarter of a million baht to get the power I needed. They put it on a pole on the road and after 90 days it became theirs for public use and now powers many more homes in the area.
I also had to put in my own drainage system as the city did not have one here.
When we built, the road in front was a great paved road, now it is a mess like Soi 102 due to other development in the area and their never ending convoy of trucks. The city refuses to fix the road (my wife has been down there for a chat) and I doubt the developers who are responsible will either!

They will only put our transformers on our land, which we didn't really want as eyesore, but at least no-one else can connect into it.
What do you mean by 'paved' road, I find anything other than concrete, ie: ashphalt and the like breaks up over time.
If there's farangs in the area the government usually leave it you them to pay for it.
