Come backs expected.
On Friday the 12th of December a quiz night for charity - 200 baht entry, great free buffet including Chinese chicken curry (English takeaway style), Chinese takeaway pancake rolls, Buffalo Bills famous BBQ spare ribs, fresh home-baked whole wheat sandwiches, crinkle cut chips, Pease pudding & Saveloys plus more. In attendance we’ve had 40-45 people each time but nobody from this on line community forum have managed to find their way here so far! If you need a map, you will find one on this online COMMUNITY website, if not we’re down by the fishing pier on the corner of Chomsin and Naresdamri Rd’s in downtown Hua Hin. Please arrive between 7 – 7.15 pm.
ALSO COMING SOON, 25th OF DECEMBER, THE KING OF ROCK & ROLL ELVIS PRESLEY & THE WELSH SEX GOD TOM JONES - Don’t miss it!!!
Any response graciously received..

I also think many people are watching their pockets in view of the situ here and the world wide credit crunch
I'm certainly having too. Small things all add up. The market prices have gone up, motorcycle taxi fares etc. When making comparisons based on exchange rates as a fixed income pensioner I'm now paying out more for less than I was 5 years ago

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

Yeah Richard-lad, I agree with you on the way the ex-pats are now having to ease-up a little on the spending.
I was with a crowd from Sports-Villa,and they all say they are staying 'up-town',around the railway much more now where at the small r/rants you can get a meal for about 70b and a big beer for the price of a small one.
Also the art of leaving 20b tips is fizzlin' out..over the course of the evening it adds up...alot of long-stayers agree on this,-sadly the girls are missing out, but thats the trend now.
Many ex-pats tell me they only come 'down-town' to Bintabaat a coupla
times per week now.
(p.s. Have you noticed that in the last 3 months the price of fuel has halved from about 43-45b/ltr to 19-21b...yet HH taxis still want 3000+ to
pick up from BKK a/pt...I am advising many to get BKK taxis that now only want 2000b fr A/pt)

Nearly all taxis run on LPG or equivalent. Cost from airport 2000-2500 as usual!usual suspect wrote:Yeah Richard-lad, I agree with you on the way the ex-pats are now having to ease-up a little on the spending.

Diplomacy is the ability to tell a man to go to hell so that he looks forward to making the trip

I think I'll pass on Tom Jones.
He was pathetic 30 years ago, wouldn't want to think of him now.
Saw him in a video with Van Morrision once. One of them had music in his bones and the other (guess who?) had none, no rhythm, no soul at all.
Elvis, though, is forever 1956 for me. After the US Army, crap.
