new year's eve

my wife and i are arriving in hua hin on dec 20 for three months. i know the sofitel etc lay on new year's eve celebrations but can anyone suggest a restaurant or bar where a couple of middle-aged scots can enjoy some live music and maybe a wee jig or two on hogmanay?

Robert - on a serious note. I think it might be a good idea if you bring a CD of some good old Scots hootananny music, as all of the bars will play it for you and everyone will have a good time. Billy (of Billys bar) is a really nice guy and Scots to boot!! I'm sure he would relish the idea... :cheers:

I appreciate that the hotels and bars around town may be making an effort for Hogmanay, but are there any organised displays, fireworks etc. taking place at the Town Square (or whatever you call the bit across from the TOT offices)

My son and his girl arrive over just before New Year and I don't know if we would be better to stay in Bangkok for the celebrations there, or come back to Hua Hin? :cheers:

El Murphys will have live music from 9pm until very early in the morn,we plan to party Thai,Irish,Scottish,English,Scandi,Euro and all world style with people from all nations to bring in a new year of peace and richness for everyone.
