Same for me too

Tried it in a bar in Binter a few years ago with some other tykes and had the girls in stitches. After the rendition I tried to explain the plot to a couple of girls who spoke English and they wet themselves and more or less told me Tykes were crazy. Maybe they were right :lach: :lach:

Richard,
If some bars on the strip have live music these bands do not play for free they have to be paid.I pay for a 3 hour set from 5000 to 10000 b. depending on the band.

If you are using this to slag me off again learn the facts

My prices have not changed since dec.2006.
We never charge a cover charge including New Year, xmas etc.
We put on at least 7 free buffets a year, the pig alone costs 4,500.
We do not charge for service.
We do not pass on a vat charge, you pay what our menu says.
Everything we sell we list a true price nothing hidden.
We do not earn anything out of the skin trade, all our staff are on good salerys,we also do not touch their tips(unlike others).
We are 100% air con.
Our toilets are cleaned at least 10 times a day.
We provide free food for our staff(10,000 a month).
We provide free uniforms also.
Our full entertainment licence costs a lot of money each year.
We sell the cheapest imported steaks in town by a long shot(certified Argentine sirloin with sides 370b).
We sell the cheapest Guinness,killkenny,strongbow in S.E.A. 150 a pint daily 7am-7pm.
All profits do not go into my pocket, they go back in making El Murphys a better place for people to stay,to relax,to eat & drink.(next up bigger toilets).

All this and more we charge 70 bath for a bottle of singha beer,140 for a double gin/vodka,80 bath for a murf special pint of singha.During live music performances we charge an extra 20 b on a drink to help us cover the year long upkeep of the band, its equipment etc.(this charge is also clear in large print on our menus).
We give regulars, expats who sign up a 10% VIP DISCOUNT
There are 2 other nightly licenced live music venues in central HH.they charge 160++ & 180 bath for a beer weather a band is playing or not.

Richard you seem to spend a lot of posts promoting and slaging off business in town, chasing free meal and discounts,if I am wrong about your intensions I am sorry for my rant, if I am correct I have better things to do then defending me, my staff and my business against your incorrect claims- my drink prices have not gone up in 2 years, some drink have come down, fact.

Never had a free meal or discount and would refuse on principle. My recent posting was based on heresay and not personal experience

I'm certainly not on the site to injure businesses as I know many of you have a hard time

However, people need to get a view from those of us that live here and cruise the bars.

We as punters are lucky. We can vote with our feet. You guys are bound by your personal judgment as to how you make a business work. You the lessees surely want feedback to improve or amend your facilities don't you????

Can't possibly slag your bar off. Never been there!!!!

Well, I've actually been there and must say I liked the food - drinks, music and atmosphere, but most important (for some expats); it wasn't expensive.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

The great thing about these forums is that liers can be exposed easily,Richard here are some of your past quotes,
richard wrote:I'VE NEVER HAD A FREE MEAL ANYWHERE and would never accept one unless offered by the patron

I WOULD NEVER ACCEPT A FREE MEAL BASED ON A COMPLAINT

I've had a few free meals where the patron has insisted that as a good customer this one is on the house

Do I get a freebie next time???
You also lay claim to Can't possibly slag your bar off. Never been there!!!! Some more of your past quotes
richard wrote:Tried El Murphy's last night

Tried the Ribs last time and Ok

Had a fillet mignon with garlic butter sauce

Steak was tender although I prefer my steak rarer (blue almost so the blood makes a fine gravy mix

Both with the ribs and the steak I found the sauces a bit too thick for me. I'm a fan of thin gravy with all my meals. Not sure I can get that across to the staff

Still very good though and service good 4th May 2008 “best steaks in H.H.”

El Murphys I've heard is dodgy 6th june 2007

My posts are based on personal experience not heresay july 18 2007
Yes everyone needs feedback to improve service but (based on heresay and not personal experience)is just heresay and not based on fact. This is the second time you have attacked me my staff and my business along with many other business based on heresay, what is your problem, you promote your mates and slate others for no reason-you then claim heresay,I don't understand.
I am not going to give you a free meal.
This is a public forum and your selfish heresay does hurt business.
Everything I stated in my last post is 100% true we hide nothing,in 6 locations in our bar we have a 24hr. telephone no. for customers if there is a problem-it has never been used.
If you have a problem with me or my staff come down or call we will go out of our way to fix it.Stop using this forum to slag people off.

Richard
It would help visitors and some residents if when writing about a subject you did it based on fact not some obviously doubtful hearsay.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

How can I get your quotes mixed up-you made then, they can be found in your viewing profile. As I stated before your are a lier-a lier who cannot remember his own lies,I did do my research- as you slander so many businesses while chasing free meals from others it is not hard to find your lies.
As for touching a nerve-I should not lower myself to your sadness.I joined this forum last year to defend my self after you made more heresay slander against my staff and my business based on heresay-well fool you should not listen to the voices inside your head.I employ 25 staff,we run a clean ship,we pay our taxes.
Even in these hard times we are almost full every night-so we must be doing something correct.

We often go in El Murphy's and food (big portions), service, cleanliness is spot on. Girls are genuinely friendly and a laugh in there, not talking in a bar girl type way as they're not.
We prefer it over other places as air-con is on all the time, so cool minute you walk in.
Genuine feedback over two years or so.

People that complain about 5-10 Baht extra for a drink in a place that's bothered to make an effort, air-con, live music, quiz nights, 4 flat screens with 4 boxes so 4 different matches available are two-bob peasants in my book.

And back to YOBT, yeah some are getting pee'd off with the daily adverts (even talking about it in the bars) but they deserve credit for fitting out a nice smart place, great toilets, bothering to put on events like quizes, live music etc etc. And great food, service.

Thanks SJ for your positive comments regarding my place. It’s good to know there are a decent people here that realize people who advertise on a daily basis are only trying to keep their heads above water in these dire times. I’m a sponsor of HHAD, but boredom is why I’m on the forum so often. SJ, are there really people out there it in the bars getting pee'd off with my daily adverts? Well good, ‘cause at least there leaving some other poor sod alone.
The problem with forums is they offer total anonymity; anyone can make snide comments about any thing, any time and about anybody. I’ve had my share of criticism, albeit some true unfortunately we can’t get it right every time, but a lot of it has been rubbish. I’m a fair person and if someone brings their disappointment to my attention at the time of dining, I will always do my utmost to correct the problem. Instead some would rather rush home where they can hide behind their pseudonym and then blatantly lie.
I’ve been to Eddie’s place on occasions and always enjoyed it. He’s been to mine and as far as I’m aware, he’s had nothing to complain about. We’re both bar owners offering a service to the public and trying our best to please.
My father used to say; if you have nothing good to say, keep y’er mouth shut.
Give me constructive criticism all day long no problem but don’t hide, shouting from a far.
