re: cheaper plants

Does anyone know where I coul buy plants that locals must need like papaya, mango, eggplant trees at cheaper local markets rather than the expensive plant places near town?

Cheers

Head out West from town on the Pa La U Road

Turn right on the main byepass as though heading to Bangkok (North)

About 6km up on the left hand side there is a terrific plant nursery - trees et al.

Can't miss it - lots of those grafted bourganvillas (multicoloured flowers) on display.

Sells every plant known to manking (Thaikind anyway  )

Make sure you have a Thai person with you and you will get a cheap as chips deal. :thumb:

We found a place about 8 klicks south towards Pranburi on the right side of main road and kitted out the garden quite cheap.
Don't know if it is still there!
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

Not sure if this helps as this thread was started quite a while ago. Eggplant seeds can be bought at many little shops in Hua Hin for 15 baht per packet. The grow quickly and with very little care. Papaya are more than likely the easiest thing in the world to grow from seed as well and you'll be getting fruit in less than a year.

You can grow your own mango tree from seed as well and they also grow relatively quickly.

Need any help, just ask.
