Hi den, have you had a good look round the forum and at the starter pack? There's one section with the word 'visas' included. All the information you could possibly want is already here somewhere.

Anyway, for now, you can arrive in Thailand without a visa and get a stamp for 30 days. If you get a tourist visa before travelling (from the Thai Embassy or a Thai Consulate in your home country) you will get 60 days when you arrive and can extend this locally by 30 days for 1900 baht.
This is the way

Just a few things:
1. den, what is your nationality? Take a look at this link and you will see the nationalities that are allowed a visa exempt stamp:
http://www.mfa.go.th/web/2482.php?id=2490
2. Also note that if you are of any of those nationalities you'll only get 15 days if you cross into Thailand from a land or sea border. If through the airport then 30 days.
3. A tourist visa can be applied for at any Thai Embassy or consulate anywhere in the world. As dtaai-maai says that will give you 60 days on arrival and it can be extended for a further 30 days within Thailand for 1,900 Baht.
