New resort
Some freinds of mine have just taken over a resort called Blue Beach in Dolphin Bay/Phu Noi .It is pretty much open already although they are still working on it as early days for now .I first met these guys when they took over the New Way resort on Koh Tao .They transformed the resort into one of the best on the strip with a well run dive school and what became many locals favourite bar,the Dry Bar .Some posters may know it .I wish Waz,Fern.Patrick and Ricky every success in their new venture .Dolphin Bay is a great place to spend some time which is what I will be doing tomorrow

I lived on Koh Tao for a year about 7 years ago, remember New Way Diving School well, Sarree beach is lovely. I have heard it has changed a lot now, not sure if it's still there, but used to 'hang out' at Simple Life Bar a lot, great sunsets.

I was always in simple life and the dry bar back then .Perhaps we may have met .I was a partner in acemarine after leaving planet scuba at that time .I lived in one of the 3 bungalows that sairee cottage had right on the beach and for some reason everyone knew me as chap .Simple life was still there last year but was closed for monsoon when I visited .
Happy times indeed back then

Well, small world Crazy, it's very possible that we have 'crossed paths' before as I also lived at Sarree Cottages, but towards the back away from the beach for about 5-6 months before moving to the other side of the island for a bit more peace.
If you were involved with Planet Scuba then it is very possible that we have mutual friends aswell.
I left a month or two after the unfortunate/controversial shooting of Mr Ban.

Also have good memories of Tao, Simple Life was a good spot, did a lot of diving with 'Siam Scuba' before it got taken over (again). Haven't been there now for about two years - probably unrecognisable!
Will look into the DB resort, was down there this afternoon playing golf very badly. Its a great little place with a lot of potential, another new resort/home stay place that has just opened up is www.beachgardenholidayhomes.com
