Hi all - just joined - loads of great advice available from you guys!
Any one know if it's possible to pay company taxes for this year if last couple of years have been unpaid? Would debts have to be cleared first or would payment be accepted as better than nothing?
Whatever adresss your company is registered at will have been delivered twice yearly tax return forms which will now be outstanding at Inland Revenue. You really want to clear them asap, may attract unwanted attention to your company.
To answer your question you could just return the latest returns with payment and they'd accept that in isolation. But you'd still have outstanding returns for the previous years which they may persue and you need to clear.
That's how I understand it, you should check with a lawyer/accountant though.
Thats what I thought you meant .I look after a property for a friend owned by a ltd co. He failed to pay on time and was fined 10k or 15k for the late payment .Cant be exact without checking but recall he was over a full year late.No grief last 2 years as he has payed on time .
