looking for 1/8" copper or other metal pipe

Post by norm »

Does anyone know where I can find small pipe 1/8" in the area.

I use it to make tube flies for fishing. Small plastic tubing will also work.

Thanks for the help

I will have a look next time I am at the builders merchants .

They use stiff plastic tube of that guage to run through the large floats I use for catfish so will ask at the tackle shop as well .

Love your fly collection BTW .

1/8th" inch internal or external diameter ? I will be visiting both places soon .Would the really stiff straws that you punch through those water cups with the plastic film lid be any good ?Or the tube from biro refills with the ink removed ?

That is 1/8" external. Not sure if the straws would be strong enough.

Have used the tube from a Q-tip but they are a bit to small in diameter.

Think if the straw got a slight bend it would crease and then not be very useful.

1/8" plastic tube works as it does not crease if it bends.

The biro tube could work fairly well if the diameter is close. Fair bit heavier than the straw.

Appreciate you checking crazy.

Many thanks Norm
