Well, firstly, welcome to the forum.

As for guest houses, have a look at the sponsors that are listed on the right hand side of the main forum index page, all pretty good really.

Really though, it depends on 'how deep your pockets are' or what do you want to spend?

If money is no object and you want to stay in town, then could consider somewhere like The Hilton Hotel or The Marriot Resort, would probably meet all the requirements you mentioned, but you'd be paying for it obviously.

I've stayed in the local guest houses in town, when a single man, through to The Evasons in Pranburi, when not a single man anymore, and that place would certainly meet what you need, just a bit 'steep' on the wallet and you have to travel to get into HH.
:( (wasn't my first choice because I was paying)

All a case of what you have in mind or what 'floats your boat'.

Just have good 'dig around' and you'll 'come up' with place for you.

Edit: Type-Os

Well leekman, if that's the case from the Mrs, along with the requirements you mentioned in the original post, then your 'best bet' is going to be somewhere like The Marriot Resort, you'll be fine there, close to beach and children friendly in a western way(pools/food/rooms/security etc). Also close to middle of town, you'll have a good time. Just make sure you don't forget your Visa/Master card.

Hi Leekman, at a guess, you must be from the Peak District in the UK, Leek is the Staffordshire Moorlands isn't it? Not too far away from Buxton, if I remember correctly.

Unless ofcourse you're refering to the vegetable, in which case,

I lived in that area for 8 years, and know it's not a subject to be messed with. You guys take your leeks very seriously.

I know exactly where you are coming from. I saw a grown man in tears after a friend of mine (during a very heavy lunchtime session) accepted a challenge to have the winning leek with his Sunday lunch. He actually left the pub with his manhood looking like it belonged to Dirk Diggler :D (the leek stuffed down one trouser leg)
