Hola phyco.
There are many AC shops along Phetkasem Road, both north and south of town. You also have a couple along the road to Pala U.
Impossible to say if they all are reliable, but I never had any problems with "my" shops. (One shop on the road to Pala U the other along the main road).
Prices up 2-3 weeks ago in general for AC.

I intend to live forever - so far so good.
I agree with you on that phyco, but I have never been any place out here where things like AC, rain gutters, sun visors and air fans are included.
All of this you have to buy yourself.
I would think that the building contractor can arrange all of it, but it's not included in the housing prices.
No big deal, but it adds 100G to the housing bill before everything is settled.

I shopped all over town and the best deal I found for 12,00 Btu units was at the Central Air shop on the west side of Petchakasem just north of the center of town (15,000 Baht each including installation). I also know of a place near the southern bus terminal in Bangkok that sells realatively new second hand units for as little as 4000 Baht each and someone who can install/service them for 2,000 Baht each.
