We used to do it by post to BKK when we first moved down here. They don't need alll pages of the passport, just the latest immigration stamp and the visa and ID page.
When the office opened up here (in the centre of town) it was more convenient to pop in and do it. When it moved to Soi 102 I was a bit concerned about damage to the suspension on our lovely aged Cefiro. They told me I could send it to them, with copies of the above (the same as BKK). The nice lady even wrote down the address for me. So we did. And they sent it back, saying that they needed to see the passport. We could send someone with our passport, but they didn't accept photocopies. We have a good (trustworthy) farang friend who trundles down on his motorcycle and does it for us, and that's accepted. Hey, I'm not going to give my precious passport to just anyone!
Surely they're going to have to adopt the same policy as the Bangkok Imm - i.e. copies of the appropriate pages and an sae. Far better than a queue of really p***ed off farangs motoring down to fill in yet another form to confirm (yet again) that they live in the same house that they have done for the last x number of years.
My 90-day is due at the end of April. We'll be in the middle of sorting out our move to Nakhon Pathom. We live in Petchaburi province - where do I go???

VS,
It dosn't appear that Nakhon Pathom has an Imm office (unless it's been misspelt as Nahorn Phanom on the list I'm looking at in which case the telephone number is 042 511235). There's also an Imm hotline number 1111. I've got through to that before and they speak pretty good English. Maybe they can point you in the right direction for April?
I think the problem with reporting is that no-one really knows what the situation is yet. As far as I'm aware, you can still report by post to BKK, but hhfarang's post suggests otherwise. HH Imm clearly told me on Thursday that I could report to any office - ie if I was up in Nong Khai for a few days holiday, I could do the report there. Must admit that I'm confused and wouldn't want to give you the wrong information that could result in a fine.
One thing I would advise is that you inform your local office (wherever that is once you've moved) about your change of address asap after you arrive. If you're renting a property then it isn't really your responsibility to inform Imm of your move - it's the landlord's - but I wouldn't chance it.
Good luck in finding your "roots". If you get any clear information from Imm then please let us know.

Does anyone know of a building, villa or otherwise, which may be suitable for relocation of the Imm. office?
If so, please let me know. Together with the Swedish connection, we want to approach Imm. directly on Monday to get as much detail as we can and find out what help they may need from the community at large.
To recap on this effort to help Imm. stay in Hua Hin, please read this thread from page 6 onwards.

VS, read this report, not sure how correct it is but worth a phone call:Vital Spark wrote:My 90-day is due at the end of April. We'll be in the middle of sorting out our move to Nakhon Pathom. We live in Petchaburi province - where do I go??? VS
Phoned immigration in Bangkok and they said there is no office in Nakhon Pathom, and that we should use Ayutthaya immigration instead, the full name is 'Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya'. Tel: 035-322667
Good luck,
VS
Just off the top of my head there is the Thanarat infantry camp at Pranburi, another large army base on the right about 15 km south of Hua Hin, The military beach resort at Suansom with a multi-story hotel and a driving range, the Police special forces camp on the way to Cha Am with a gift shop and public shooting range, a police shooting range to the west, a large hotel run by the Navy and the Paru headquarters opposite the Palace, and also there is a golf course down at Dolphin Bay.
You would have thought out of all that lot they could find room for an immigration office!

immigration office
Hi, have heard that the immigration office is moving to Singkon because there is a possibility of opening a border crossing into Burma. Which would be very handy for visa runs and would do away with the long Ranong run. Has anyone else heard this or is it just another urban myth??
Imm. Moving
I think all of Thailand is a"Urban Myth"!!!One day this, the next day that, nobody knows whats happening in this country

The effort to gather financial support for keeping Imm. in Hua Hin has hereby been dropped.
Consulting today with my friends in the Swedish expat community - from whom the suggestion to help pay for those air-cons in the townhouse at Soi 43 originally came - we have agreed that since Imm. was even considering that house for 20K a month, and only backed out when the landlord shot himself in the foot by upping the rent and demanding ownership of the said air-cons, then they must actually have some money. If they can afford 20K a month, and we all know they could rent a suitable house for less than half that, then they actually don't need our help. In fairness, they have neither asked for help nor responded significantly to our suggested support.
My thanks to all who have offered pledges of support and suggestions for locations through this forum and in person over the weekend. We'll now just have to wait and see what happens around the 20th.
