Bank of Ayudhya, the bright yellow one is often considered as giving a good deal, their ATM's(also bright yellow) rate is OK too. The default choise, I think.

Whilst walking around the centre of town a couple of days ago, I looked at the rate in those kiosks by the City Beach hotel and the bank of Ayudthya was the best, although only by a small amount. Mind you, they are located so close together you may as well have the best deal, even if it only means a couple of baht.

Money changers often give the best rates.
But I wouldn't fret too much unless you are doing a billion-pound LBO.

Changed some money yesterday using two debit cards.
Recieved a rate of 48.5 Baht/£ on my HSBC card.
Recieved a rate of 50.0 Baht/£ on my Nationwide card.
The transactions were made for the same amount and made within seconds of one another. No fixed charge on either card.
No contest.
Steve.
