Visa Run (any Updated Info?)

Post by peterjon »

I have read many posts about visa renewal runs and tried several email addresses and telephone numbers but with no reply...

Does anyone know of any up to date information as to the quickest and easiest way to renew my "B" non imigrant visa?

Also anyone have any information about a Work Permit if I start a business with a Thai national?

I've already answered your first post.
You don't have to post 2 identical questions on 2 different treads.

There are a couple of people on the board who have work permits, but they're away over Xmas and NY. I'm afraid I can't help you authoritatively.
What I have heard, though, is that it's becoming increasing difficult to get renewals without the correct paperwork, particularly in Penang. They now want letters from your employer etc and the old loophole of getting the Non "B" without actually working is now being closed.
A bit more info would be useful. Is the current non B your first? Did you get a work permit afterwards?
Post a bit more about your situation and I'll see what I can find out.

Visa Run (any Updated Info?)

Post by peterjon »

Hi, Thank you for your information, so far.

My present "B" visa if my first as I had the offer of work with a company here as Director of Creative Design. The company is owned by my partner 100% Thai. We are waiting to move to a new premises and then plan to launch the service here in Hua Hin. Any information about how to obtain a work permit and from where would be really appreciated.
Many Thanks
