Another England Newbie !!
Hi Chaps....
Mark, 29 and from Essex...
Just a quick hello... quality forum - you should all be proud..
Im in Hua Hin in a couple of weeks - May 26th til June 7th. Just a couple of weeks hols with my thai girlfriend. It's my 7th time in the Land of Smiles but my first time in Hua Hin. We figured we best avoid the razamatazz of Pattaya, Bkk etc .. and head for somewhere a bit more peaceful.
Hopefully we've made the right choice .... and after browsing the info and posts on here, i see no reason why we won't love HH ...
Anyway, thats my intro over and out .... Regards

Hi Mark 29 from Essex! Welcome to the forum. We are all nuts, we all moan, and we all love HuaHin. Hope you do too

I'll certainly do my very best to love it!! To be honest, i'd never heard of HH until my girlfriend from near BKK recommended it, as a good place for us to spend time as a couple. I've been to the islands and Pattaya, but im hoping HH has a blend of everything thats good about Thailand.
Its appears to tick all the boxes. I'll certainly use the forum to my advantage and let you all know what i think along the way. Thanks for the warm welcome!!

Your girlfriend sounds like a very sensible lady Mark. HuaHin is much much quieter than Pattaya, but has plenty of bars and eateries, and beach life if you want it. The beach though is nowhere near the same as Pattaya. Main difference being that it's not nearly as visible. HuaHin doesn't have a Beach Road like Pattaya, which I always found a bit strange.
In Pattaya I spent many days just wandering the beach between Jomtien and Naklua, with plenty of places to stop for food and drink on the way. You can't do that in HuaHin.
But there isn't the hassle in HH either. You can cross the roads for a start. The Nightmarkets are good for food, and there are still a few livelier bars in the Bintabaht/Poolsuk area.
There aren't the Brit type places of the standard of Bobbys, and food/drink prices are generally higher in HH, but if you can accept the differences and go with the flow you will be fine. Most importantly your GF will be happy!

Thanks again for the welcome and tips etc... I just love thai night markets for a bit of shopping and eating for a tiger beer in a beer bar...
. Food here, just doesn't taste the same and i begrudge paying an arm and a leg here, for just about nothing on my plate!! Even if HH is more pricey than Pattaya, it'll still be better value than here, and hey i'm on hols - so i won;t be counting the pennies til i get home.
And yes ... England is hell, its packed to the rafters still with riff raff and undesirables in the main....
