Look on the bright side, if this is one of our annoyances, we have a pretty worry free life here

The last 2/3 times I've been there, I've found the traffic worse than the parking. Not ideal when on your hols...

When there in April, they had reduced Petchkasem to one lane heading south by MV so cars could do a U-turn without cutting across the lanes heading north - perverse. Just shut the U-turns and make the traffic go to the flyover.

That will make the traffic worse IMHO as the Thais do a U-turn anywhere they like and usually have to sit for a while to get a break in the traffic, this jams up the traffic more than making it one lane that most people are familiar with.

Lets face it they just don't have the roads to handle the traffic and it is going to get much worse. The lack of driver training also causes many of the problems.

But as Super Joe said if this is our biggest bitch we are in good shape.

I can really relate to this thread!! I've been to Thailand 7 times, and after each trip feel really crap, coming back home to England.

I miss the women, the smiles, the sun, the food, the laughter, you name it... each time i manage to shake it off and get it out of my system. Its like a drug though, i always come back, and cant seem to forget the place and the love that Thailand gives me.

I'll never shake it off - a part of me will be Thailand forever...

In centre of town there's one massive car park about 150m from Hilton Road, closes at 10 or 10:30pm, if that's too early there's another massive parking area about 200m from above.
That's apart from all the side roads, City Beach hotel has always, every single time, had a space available for 20B to the security man.
Park in the Hilton for free if a trip to reception isn't too much agg.

Sure thing super, or if you don't care to parallel park in a parking space, you can just leave your car blocking a lane while you run into a store, that is if you are only going to be there for 15 minutes or so.

But I don't think people are bitching about the parking it is the driving that gets to most of us. If they had any laws and those laws were enforced it would help.

But on the bright side other than the driving and the corruption it is a very nice place to live.

Hi there everyone!!!

Everytime when I went abroad for an extended period of 6 Months to a Year or more. I usually get "withdrawal symptomes Hua Hin related." Where it takes someone only to mention Hua Hin and off goes my Head in Memories.

This case can usually be solved through watching Google Earth on Hua Hin in s Birds Eye Wiev, or taking a virtual Bar crawl around Binta Blok.

fach3003,

I'm sure we'll all be interested in hearing your perceptions of how Hua Hin has changed in three years. As I've been here the entire time the changes, which I think are huge, have happened gradually but to come back for the first time in three years I would think would be a shock.

Let us know what differences you notice and how you feel about them...
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Hi HHF

I will... i hope it isnt that different as i loved it last time
and felt i could live there....or maybe on the outskirts

I always pop to Samui for a few days to see friends
there and there were huge changes every year there...
my first year there was 2002...and by 2005 it was
so different a shame really... but thats progress?

Anyhow either way im excited for are jollys to LOS
taking my parents as well as they want to see Thailand
for themselves and see roughly were we are going to live...

Exciting times!!

Wishing all well
