Hi VQ,

Welcome to the forum. I guess you mean lager (type) beer. I don't know the answer to your question but that's tough during low season. I suspect there are only a few bars serving draught as they have to have enough business to sell a keg before it goes bad.

Buffalo Bills and O'Neills both have lager on draught.
Johnnie Walkers has Chang on draught.

Although it seems odd to some farangs at first, you can actually get used to putting ice in your lager and beer in LOS. Even supercooled draft beers will quickly reach room temperature so give the ice a try?

Mags,

I used to think that was an abomination to do that to a beer but I've been converted here. I still don't do it to most beers but when I'm sitting outside drinking Chang I may put a few cubes in it as it is a strong beer anyway so diluting it a little helps to keep one sober allowing a longer time to enjoy beers with friends.

Cannot do the ice in beer thing although the glass half full of solid ice with the beer on top is not too bad as long as you drink fast .A friend told me yesterday that there is a bar called lost in takiap which has a good selection of beers including draught .I will investigate and let you all know .

I put ice in Thai beer, particularly Chang, and the best way of doing it is to use a large chunk that just about fills a pint glass.
I know it seems a strange thing to do, but I got used to it when I lived in Indonesia from drinking in small bars and restaurants that often didn’t have a refrigerator.
When I’m in the village in Issan you have to do the same thing for drinking bottles of Chang at the local noodle stall.

I think the best place to watch Hua Hin go by is one of 3 (I think) bars near the Hilton, one is called Mai Tai. You are high enough not to be bothered by the hawkers and last month the draught Chang was 50 bahts.

I can understand the attraction of the MaiThai as a people watching place to an extent, but a lot of the passers by there are Hilton type 2 weekers. Plus I've had a downer on the place since they ripped Little Big Horn apart!

Daytime - the Boat or Admirals. Nightime the Railway, or an eatery on Poolsuk.

BTW others may know if this is correct, but I've an idea that for many years hawkers have been banned from actually venturing up the steps to the MaiTai?

I sometimes take a stubby holder with me to put the glass in - maintains cooler temp for a while. Ice in beer - like drinking light beer ha, ha (excluding Chang at 4.5%). Fits into the pocket nicely too.
In general poor selection of lagers in HH (exc. Buff's and O'neills good and cold).
Jungle Juice has good cold bottled Tiger lager, great hot pot and a reasonable pool table!
The secret is to drink it fast before it reaches ambient ha, ha.

A stubby holder is not good, even for a cold larger. Pete
