International operator
I want to make a reverse charge call to the UK, which has to be done through the international operator. The number of the int op is apparently 100, but that doesn't work on my mobile (AIS 1-2-call).
Can anyone help me out here?

Hi dtaai-maai,
I regularly have to make a reverse charge call to the UK, and this is the number: 001999441066
When it answers an automated voice asks you to enter your account number - don't do anything, and wait, then it asks you again, keep waiting and eventually a human operator will answer. Then just give the number you want to call and they will ask your name and try the number - if it is answered the operator will ask them if they will accept your call and assuming they say yes, away you go!

You're a champion, Wanderlust, thank you. Unfortunately the number I have to call is my bank's (who told me to reverse the charges as they still keep blocking my ATM card after 6 years in Thailand
), and as it is one of these multiple choice recorded message things (
), there is no human being to accept the charges...
Still, at least now I can irritate all my mates in the UK...

d-m,
Actually it is my bank I have to call for the self same reason - what you need to do is get hold of the direct number of their fraud department, as it is they who deal with these things. If your bank is Barclays, the number is (0044)1604614812 - obviously the bit in brackets is if you are dialling yourself from abroad, but if through the operator just miss that bit out and add a 0 at the start. If you search on the internet you might be able to find the number you need for your bank's fraud or stolen cards division, and they always accept reverse charge calls! Equally someone else on here might have the magic number you require.

WL,
Is that number you gave for an international operator to make a reverse charge call to anywhere or is that one just for the U.K.?

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
