Whoever has drilled it into your head that it's 3/4 to 1 is having a laugh. I'll admit that there are slightly more women here than men but the max is 60% women 40% men.
Remember the factories/armed services/police/village scooter boys/brothers of girl friends/market traders in the 2 door pickup etc etc etc.

I know farangs don't count, but just as an example that may apply to Thai men as well, I frequently spend five or six days in a row without leaving the house. My wife, however is out pounding the streets every day getting the car washed, her hair done, her nails done, shopping, having lunch with friends, etc.
Also, to the question of our home countries missmatched ages like here in relationships. Asians have always accepted this, even within their own societies where it is frowned upon in the west. Plus, women, at least in America, and I assume Europe is the same can earn a living just as well as a man now days so they don't marry for security or support like women in many Asian countries do.

Sorry spitfire but your 60% 40% is low and doesnt account for the girls already exported it is also low against all the thais i have asked they all come up with 70% 30%

I have had not one not 2 not even 3 but four total sceptics that HAVE done it and all have come back and agreed with me just on what they have counted in BKK HH and Phuket (by the way that was a guy with his own website (Thai Girls) and i have never met the guy
The problem with 1 to 1 is that it just flies in the face of what we see as unexplainable but when you use a much larger girls to boys ratio and then see if it fits you will be very surprised how often it does and staggered at how often it the only explanation that answers it
By the way my figure for here is lower than 3 to 1 it only goes over 3 when i add caddies and exports to the figure

Thai women of all ages are just more visible in every respect, because they do a lot of the work. The army and the police also 'hide away' a lot of the Thai men, both by employing them and arresting them - I wonder what the prison population is?

Hate to say this but the only true stats are the birth rates. Sitting and counting would only work if you were on every street corner for 24 hours. Even then you would miss a lot of both sexes if they do not go out.
I remember in the UK years ago Nottingham had a higher percentage of females never found out the reason why.

All I said was that most of the world has more women than men because statistically women live longer than men - that is just a known fact. I wasn't addressing the issues nor wasting my time sitting and counting because the first one I have not yet had time to consider, and the second is just a waste of time; all it shows is that there are more women out and about at any one time in the particular places you and your other pollsters were looking. In a country of millions you and your group have probably only counted a tiny fraction of the population, and it is entirely possible that some people have been counted more than once in a sitting. Because of that no positive conclusions can be drawn. A hypothetical situation can be imagined and discussed, but the whole premise of your thread is flawed because your 'study' is.
As far as penis enlargement goes I think you mean penis comparison, and your constant references to how long you have been here are that to a tee. I couldn't care less what others get up to and how they think about themselves and their relationships, and your sweeping generalisation about Isaan girls or the farangs they have as partners is neither accurate nor polite. I am sure that some Isaan girls are with their farang for exactly the reasons you say, but that doesn't mean all of them are. I am sure this thread will get flooded with testimonials to that fact as well from farangs you have insulted with that remark, if they can be bothered to.
Your remark about the UK and comparing west with east on the issue of the age gap between partners suggests to me that despite your years here you haven't grasped the basic concept that in general Asian women are not so bothered about the age of their partner and more concerned with his ability to take care of them and their family. One of the reasons so many westerners end up loving Asia and its women is because in their home countries many women 'want it all' - a young handsome stud who earns a fortune, while over here both the concept of handsome and fortune are different; just having white skin and a speaking English is regarded as handsome it seems, and I'm not talking about bar girls here. Age is revered here as well, as opposed to many western countries where the families can't wait to either pack the wrinklies off to a nursing home or for them to pop their clogs so they can get their hands on their property and money.
There are so many things wrong with your generalised assertions I don't have either the time or the energy to carry on pointing them out, so I'll hand over to everyone else. Incidentally, not that it is at all important, but my wife is not from Isaan, so I am not responding in the way I have because of that.

Errr, excuse me Mr.Sarg, but I did. I've also mostly lived in non-farang areas where the ratio is nothing like you (or your Thai pals) quote. Don't forget the men who are in Taiwan earning far more than they can back here. There were quite a few from our place in the sticks, who have left their wives back home to earn more dosh abroad. At our new local drinking establishment there are at least a dozen men loafing around the place. The two girls are far more visable and go out to get the food for the restaurant and do general shopping. The men are certainly here, they just either don't leave the house (because they're lazy and it's a patriarchal society) or they're working on bulding sites living in tin shacks and wouldn't be seen walking down a street in the centre of Bangkok (or Hua Hin).

In my wifes village, there seem to be as many men as women. Although as VS said, sometimes the men work away. My wifes step-dad does and the village headman changed as the original (to me) also went to work abroad somewhere.
Certainly in Korat, I can't say that I have noticed it, apart from when various armed forces are staying at the Hotel I use and the (now closed I believe) pub next store was then a bit of a magnet for the ladies.
