Dave,

A scooter aint beatin a Ferrari anywhere have driven both and it is out of the question, Clarkson must have driving like a pussy! But i will be happy to give you a few tips at the range, i think it will be kinda fun!
And bj, I agree that the grey matter in the head has more effect than anything, we must be nuts to play this game! We should have a knock sometime, let me know, maybe we can take Dave!

BJ seemed to have touched a nerve somewhere there, I will continue to attend the range and improve on my recent performance, if only to upset JW, maybe you could attend and give some one on one personal training and pass on some of your knowledge and expertise of the golf game and history[/quote]

I am in HH end of February again, We could meet somewhere , no problem. If you like, you can play Springfield (providing you think you can play a course but thats a personal decission) Is this the range near Royal HH Golf Course you're talking about ?

never been there, Spent my time @ ranges usually at Springfields Driving range.
In change of extra lokal knowledge and a Chang I am always willing to help. remember though that even as a low HCP'er i am not teaching pro ...

just PM or email bj.blackowitz@gmx.net

There's no way Monsta, beer and golf will mix!!!
If he starts drinking whilst playing, pack up and walk back in for your own saftey.

NEWS FLASH.
Buksida and Soul Monsta hit the driving range again yesterday. Monsta was there for the final half hour and fortunately there were no deaths or serious injuries reported. However, upon seeing him, the young lady who gives out the coupons for the balls and who was almost decapitated a couple of weeks ago by the scooterkid, turned a whiter shade of pale and took refuge in the ladies toilets until we left.
Buksida has stepped up a gear and arranged a lesson with a teaching pro for next week. During a momentary lapse of concentration after the session, he raided his wallet and bought a glove. He's serious now and I don't think I'll be able to delay him much longer from actually getting out on a course.
I'll try and make that the military course at Pranburi and will give as much prior notice as possible to fellow golfers on this board so they can stay away on the day.
You've all been warned.

Once you get to the traffic lights on the HH-Pran road, where the main road from BKK joins, head into Pranburi about two kms. On your right (the other side of the carriageway) you'll see the military hospital. Almost immediately after that there's a right turn into the military base. Traffic lights there - not always working.
You'll have to stop at the sentry post and leave some ID. In fact I'm not sure if you can just bowl up anymore and explain you're playing golf. You may need to be with a member. Someone else may know.
Once your on the base head straight down the road for quite a few kms. Eventually, you'll see some of the holes on your right. Keep going until the entrance.
Cheap to play - it was posted on here quite renently how much. I've lost the info. The course is not in the best of condition, but they try their best and are a friendly lot. It's now 18 holes, many of which are pretty challenging. A lot of water. A good course for a beginner to get out on without upsetting the better members.

SOUL MONSTA CLONES!!!
I don't believe it. At the driving range again this morning and I witnessed two shots straight out of The Monsta's reportoire.
Someone broke the head off his driver and later had to collect the piece of metal from the fairway. Refer to my substitute driver - photos on this thread.
Even more amazing was a Thai lady getting some professional advice. She managed to do a totally vertical shot and nearly hit other players.
I can't believe I've seen these two trick shots from Monsta replicated on the same day, on the same range.
Truely awesome.
There's got to be some money in it for you somewhere, Monsta.

Maybe I just don’t realize how strong I am but yes it did travel further than any one of buksida's best efforts
Yep, thats why Mancs are the best golfers, cos they're 'arder than everyone else.

I'll settle for the trench mate, it takes some skill to get it in there everytime!

:neener:
I reckon I can make some money from the range!!
The above club was returned last night by Monsta in pristine condition. Reckon I'll hit it better than the Taylor Made now!!
And I seem to have acquired a scooter. I'm assuming you want me to sell that, Dave. There's been quite a bit of interest already.

SOLD!
The power of HHAD advertising.
Monsta, I got 4,000 baht for the scooter. I could have got 5,000, but it didn't have any petrol.
I'll see you tomorrow at the driving range and will give you your 30%.
I'm looking forward to trying the "new" driver out.
You're a very generous person :thumb:

Is Tanarat worth a try? I think it is but do not expect to have course the standard of Lake View or Palm Hills. It is slowly being improved and at the moment the greens are good but the fairways leave alot to be desired. However if you play preferred lies on the fairway you can have a good game. It is not an easy course with water in play on i think about 9 holes. The rough is penal and you may lose aball or six.

It now costs the visitor 400 baht plus 200 for the caddy plus a tip. An annual member pays 8000baht plus 270 per occasion plus a tip.

I play every Mon Wed Fri and can normally get round in under 3 hours in a two ball. However it has now been discovered by the Koreans and the Japanese and if you get behind that lot your in for a long day.

There are a lot of Swedes playing there and they play quickly and are not normally a problem.

A refreshing chang will set you back 25 baht and there is food but i dont eat when playing as it might interfere with my drinking so can't comment on cost or quality. The clubhouse charges 60 baht for a large bottle and the thai food os all very reasonably priced.

Thanks for posting that info again, Machersjohn.
I reckon Buksida may well be up for it soon.
Does it now get busy at weekends?
And do we simply have to show ID/driving licence at the sentry point as was the case before, or have to show membership now?
I'd be interested to know. Thanks.

Well pain is the operative word this week ... blisters where there shouldnt be blisters, aches in the side, and as for my balls ....

They seem to be going in the right direction now though and my backswing, if you could call it that, is improving ... apparently.

Not sure I'm ready for a real course yet thou
