I would suggest you go back there during the daytime, and ask them. I may be wrong, but I don't see many on this forum frequenting the Blue Angel often enough to know the Thai songs well enough.

The Blue Angel is just a business, and I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you. If you're lucky, they may even burn you a disk for a small consideration.

Blue angel

Post by Chas »

I have been there many times and taken any number of visitors there. As usual, any mention of the Blue Angel here gets into sophomoric jokes. Grow up guys.

The OP is interested in their music . .not the usual menu of snide digs.

I have a great deal of sympathy for the "girls" who work very hard for very little money in one of the occupations which katoey are good at, suitable for and happy engaging in.

They have my total admiration and respect. (You try wearing full makeup in this heat.)
They do a terrific job in a very limited venue. The show is VERY entertaining (you should catch one if you havent yet) and they are one of the few "entertainment" options here in town and as such should be encouraged.

To actually address the OP: if I am not mistaken, much of the "Thai" music ( "Welcome to Thailand" in English is one of my favorites!) is from the Simon shows in Pattaya & Phuket and you might try their websites.

Welcome to Thailand is by Carabao.

Nobody had a snide dig at the Blue Angel or Katoeys, my comment was harmless banter aimed at BigBoy.

I class a few Katoey as friends through my GF so jump back down off your politically correct soapbox.

I'm sorry Chas, I don't have a clue what your on about. I thought that I had written a sensible, on subject response. Could you explain where I went wrong/what you're on about?

fine response

Post by Chas »

BigBoy your response was fine and right on target. No problem.

I wasnt replying to your response but to that which follows. Every mention of the Blue Angel I have ever seen on HHAD has been followed by "harmless banter" usually to the exclusion of whatever the original topic happened to be.

Carabao wrote "Welcome to Thailand" ?. . .Thanks. let me look that up. I would like to see the lyrics. It is a very catchy tune!

And no, I wont respond to the "sense of humor" thing you guys are always on about and its frequent use as a catch-all comeback to cover reactions to insensitive comments.

Tiffany

Post by Chas »

A quick search of Youtube turned up several versions of "Welcome to Thailand" complete with choreography! It does not seem to be the Carabao version though . .probably two versions.

The Carabao version is much more funky (with a Louis Armstrong verse in there for some reason!) and the Tiffany version more "glitzy. (I prefer the latter as in the former they all sound drunk to me. . .but that is my taste.)

Another of the songs the OP heard at Blue Angel was "Amazing Thailand" and it too comes up on Youtube in a number of versions of varying quality.

I want to ask the OP if the songs he refers to are these two in English about Thailand . .or some other song(s) in Thai. . .which I dont remember.

How much is the entrance for a show at the BA? (Yes, I know, it could go and ask, but I am just to shy)

I think you're suggesting all Thai males are drunken layabouts and I find it highly offensive.

Two of my favourite Thai songs HERE and HERE

WTF is Tiffany version of welcome to Thailand?

outta here

Post by Chas »

Boys, I am outta here.

I concede.

I just cant compete in the rarefied atmosphere of "British Humour" which, like "British cuisine", is highly overated. (IMHO)

Go to Youtube, type in "Tiffany" and you will find their version of any number of songs. Enjoy!

Good luck to the OP.
