Anyone know where I can by hand tools in Hua Hin?
Electrical drill, screwdrivers, saw etc etc.

I found the range at HomePro a little disapointing, as I am also on the hunt for mechanics hand tools.
Tesco Lotus have a similar range and quality.
Found a little shop in the Grande Plaza night market that keeps some surprisingly useful bits.
Other than that, if anyone knows of a professional tool store that sells tools I also would like to hear about it.
I am in the market for torque wrenches, spanners, etc etc etc.

About 1/2 way along the Canal Rd (after the lights, on the right, heading back towards Cha Am) is a large Thai store that sells a surprising amount of tools.
It doesn't look much from the front but is large inside.
Look out for the stone tables, BBq's and water tanks stored outside.

I understand many of the girls on the Binterblock rent out their own hand tools, mainly manual pumps, which are used as a warm up before the main engine takes over.

In respect of the main engine, despite the claims of McClaren and Ferrari, a professor has concluded that the best Engine in the word is the Vagina.

It can be started with 1 finger.
It's self lubricating
Does its own oil change every month.
Takes any size of piston

Only problem is the Management system is a bit of a nightmare!!

There is a pretty big Thai hardware store on the west side of phetkasem road near the palace. I go there mainly for pumps as they have a good selection but I think I saw a lot of tools there too.

There is also Tavorn hardware on the Pala U road near the pizza place (right side before the road narrows to two lanes). They have some tools and they also have catalogs that you can order almost anything from. The lady who is usually sitting at the desk at the back end of the long counter on the right when you go in speaks English and can provide you with catalogs. They will order from Bangkok and it takes a few days to get what you want.

I was last in Hua Hin 2 years ago and there was a small automotive spares shop on the ground floor of the Market Village Shopping Centre. If you ask in there I am sure that if they do not have what you want, they will be able to tell you where to get things from.
Also may pay to drop into one of the mechanics workshops or dealership workshops and ask the guys in there.

I know that they are expensive, but may pay to contact these guys. Tools all have lifetime warranty but can be very expensive

This might not be of immediate help to those living in Hua Hin, but if you're travelling a bit, there is a chain of stores called "Global" which are real DIY superstores/builders suppliers offering small to large professional tools, materials and equipment.

I used them to buy just about everything when I built my house in Khon Kaen some years ago and was very happy with their range and service and prices (which are all labelled - no 2-tier pricing!!)

They also stood by their guarantees!!!

The full name of the company is Siam Global House and they have stores in Roi Et, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Chiang Mai, Rayong, Chon Buri and Nakhon Pathom. According to The Nation, they are also planning stores for Ayutthaya, Kalasin, Nakhon Sawan, Ratchaburi and other provinces.

I love Snap-on Tools, saved my money like a good boy when i was an apprentice another life and country or 3 ago, and they are without a doubt the quality item. Shiny too!
I go to Udon regularly, so thanks for the tip re: global house too!
