It was very cheap and potent, and when you ordered one the barman just got a pint pot and scooped out a glassful. I can't imagine that sort of thing would be legal anymore.
I've been in several Rugby Clubs where they have a similar dustbin. What they do is empty all of the slops into it when they clear away the glasses from the previous session, and serve it again at the start of the next session. They would normally freshen up the pint with a squirt from the pump.

Only trouble was if you were fussy, and liked a particular brand, it might taste a bit strange :D

I noticed tonight that my new local here in Yeovil has a draught cider called Westons Bounds Brand Scrumpy which sounds promising
but I didn't try it as I have to get up early, it will have to wait for next weekend.

Have we covered what a "scrumpy" is on here? Is it perhaps a dry, fizzy cider? Pete

I looked it up, but this definition is about as clear as mud. Seems it could be about any type of cider. Pete

Tesco in England have a special offer on Srongbow of 15 cans for £5.
Some things are cheaper in the UK.

Scrumpy is as clear as mud as well Pete; it's a sort of original type rustic cider that tastes like homebrew!

As a life long cider drinker, I have to ask.

Does anyone actually like Blackthorn?

I find it a pretty revolting can of chemicals myself.

Pet.

Tiger is a local beverage, the Cider is an import along with Tetley Bitter & Kronenbourg and some others, we only wish we could buy these at the same price you pay for draught Tiger.
