Bangkok Immigration office will move on 01 October
The move has been on the cards for ages, but it's good to know that it's now happening. Thanks.
I suppose most of us won't have too many dealings now with BKK as everything's been decentralised, but it always helps to know where the Imm HQ is.
For those who may have business there and don't know where it is going to be, it's not too far from the old Don Muang airport. If you're going up there without your own transport, a quick and easy way will be:
minibus to Victory Monument, jump on the skytrain to the end of the line at Mo Chit and there are loads of taxis close by. A ride to the MFA and therefore Imm close by should only take 15 mins or so from there.

Soi Suan Phlu is alot more convenient and accessible than the new location that Thai Immigration is moving to.

Yes. The Thais can get their passports from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - the same place we have to go to to get the certified English to Thai translation of our "affirmation of freedom to marry" document - which is also on Chaeng Wattana road/Laksi district.JimmyGreaves wrote:Is this near where Thais get there passports in Bangkok, the Laksi district?
I'm not sure how close together the two buildings are, but from the sound of things they're not too far apart.
