Elephant Polo

Post by norm »

Five years ago we went to a elephant polo match the Anatara (sp) sponsored.
Haven't heard of one since. Anyone know what became of them?

It was fun to watch.

Split is correct,

I was sad when it moved as we went to the last two they had here and really enjoyed ourselves. Here's a couple of photos from the last one here four years ago:

If I remember correctly the Scots won the last on in Hua Hin. So sad it will be the closest they ever get to winning a World Cup.

I remember a couple of the rules, you couldn't let your elephant lay in front of the goal to block it and if the elephant stepped on the ball the opposing team got a free shot for either infraction.

The elephant trip through town was fun to watch also..

Thats the one, very near there but across the street. There was one young one that kept going over to the plants along the road and ripping them up to eat them. His handler didn't seem ti have much control. Fun to watch.
