Portugal has already shown the way. They decriminalized all drugs 8 years ago. Despite concerns drug usage would increase, it actually decreased and many more drug users there are seeking help to come off the drugs. As a result, crime has gone down, there are no underground illegal drug dealers, and the tax payer doesn't have to pay for a drug user spending their time wasting away in prison. The police can also concentrate on real crime. A good plan all round and a successful experiment wouldn't you agree?
JoeDoc, I haven't seen or heard anything about that. Don't you have one of your usual web site addresses to back up those facts? Not saying it's not true, so don't get your nickers in a twist... just saying I haven't read those facts anywhere and I'm interested in the official results of such an experiment.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

i'm in total agreement :thumb:
add to that, if people do feel the need to use drugs, at least they will be getting the genuine article & not some of the made up crap the dealers cut :?

I remember reading an article in The Economist about it.

They said that if someone is caught with drugs they must go before a panel to talk about it. I don't remember all the details, but will look later for a link.

I remember they were happy with the results, but nothing miraculous.

Yep!... One of the links on BaaBaa's search from a fairly reliable and (politically) unbiased (to my knowledge) source:
