RR Cars at Hua Hin Station

Post by Lung Per »

Now, those f*ckd up Thais have done it again...
Imagine, they have laid new track in front of the Railway Station. The track, of course, connect to nowhere but in spite of this they have somehow managed to park two railway cars on them. How on Gawds green earth do they think they can pull those back to Bangkok? And why did they disconnect the track from the main line already? When are they going to move the buildings and the rest of the track??? They also seem to have painted these old cars in conspicuos colors and even built some sort of a gangbridge contraption between them. Gawd or Bhudda perhaps knows what they are up to now? I don't. And the word is that Her Royal Majesty the Princess will do some sort of I don't know what to those railroad cars on Saturday. Yeah, the Thais never seem to be able to do anything right...

It is a common thing everywhere for Thai railway stations to have old engines out the front of the stations on some track. It's kind of a symbol thing, like military airports have old fighters positioned at the gate, army bases have old tanks, ever goes as far as pork restaurants have concrete statues of a pig in closhes smiling and waving at everyone that passes so they know what type of restaurant it is ans waht the specialise in, they have chicken, fish, lobster and the rest. They have old steam trains outside the train station in Korat where I am on these tracks.

I heard that they were going to be rest/reading/library rooms so you could sit down and relax in peace and quite. Would have thought they would need aircon for that though.

Check your local Hua Hin TV news station on Saturday. Even better - be there yourself and get an opportunity to come close to Royalty. Don't forget to wear your avatar hearing aids... This is of such magnitude that TV will be there. Don't know what time though.

I'm a bit too far away to pick up HH news stations as well! But it does sound like the usual display thing. Chumphon has 3 old engines displayed along the road leading to the station. They look good as well IMO.
And HH does already have an old loco on the golfcourse side of the tracks.
Photos would be appreciated please if possible, but unless the carriages and track interfere with other traffic I can't see a problem.
(Sorry - can't believe I just said that - TIT.)

No traffic interference Mags, except maybe while the moving and construction were going on. It's just two nice looking passenger cars set up in the little triangular park across from the station.

Will try to remember to take the camera next trip downtown.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Judging from some of the comments I get the feeling that somehow not all of you caught my humorous tone. The display is actually quite nice, and there is to be an official inauguration ceremony of some kind tomorrow. Photos to follow.

When you open a reply window, look at the top right and you'll see in CAPS and red color 'UploadPic'. Hit that and a new window will open at top left. Source your photo from your hard drive, go to bottom right and hit SEND. Once the photo appears in the window, hit STANDARD on the bottom right and you'll see your photo link appear in your message. (not the photo itself at that point, but only the linking code) Then hit SEND like you do with any normal message to post. Pete

Eerh- I may have had too much of the local stuff that makes you go blind but I do not se any "UploadPic" i red caps. Only red I have is "Close Tags". Perhaps I have not earned enough points to post pics? Or am I looking the wrong place?

It's right above 'Close Tags' in CAPS. If you don't have it I have to leave to Admin to explain why. With 191 posts I'm sure you have enough to post photos. Pete
