Events end of October

Hi chaps, i will be in town from 28 October, and was wondering if there is any special events going on, and if i recall dident HHAD have a shin dig around that time last year and are they planning anything for the near future, as .it would be good to meet some of you.

Loy Kratong i forgot about that one, were's the best place in HH to see this spectical.

The last time I was there, we celebrated it on the beach in front of the Sofitel, where there were fireworks and a band.

Floated our little coconut flower things in the surf then into the garden restaurant for a nice meal and a bottle of the red stuff.

Great night out and we even managed to park the car in the Hotel car park.

As we've said on here before, Loy Krathong is the best holiday of the year, and IMO we see the best in Thai people that evening as well. Not much drinking, not many loud boom boxes etc.

Falling so early this year, it falls late in 2010 on November 21. That should offer a chance for visitors who may arrive by then for their winter holidays to experience a special day.
