As a 60 something ex expat I don't think there's any need to fret over the 'olds'!
Let them have some time to wander around, get acclimatized, get lost now and then, make their silly holiday purchases, get ripped off (within reason) and please don't think you need to cosset them!
They might even appreciate some time on their own, and will probably love a night or two on the town.
But I do think a 'must' is a trip to the Kwai, which they will probably appreciate more than younger folks. Again they can do the trip quite safely in the hands of one of the HH tour operators.
Above all I'd have a good talk to them about what kind of holiday they really want. Grandparents are terrible at thinking they are indespensible for child care duties and will make sacrifices. Don't let them!
A sprout is for life - not just for Christmas.

If it's that big, make sure you check that it's legitimate with your airline. Some of them are really strict on maximum sizes (dimensions) these days - anything to make a bit of extra cash.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED
