Hi Norseman and Pete :)

I've had a look at the weather forecasts, the only thing that worries me is: will it be raining every day? Hopefully not all day though?

I've been to Samui during rainy season and there it was mainly cloudy, not rainy.

Hua Hin is the driest place in Thailand so stop worrying about the weather.
You may expect a shower, but they are rarely lasting more than one hour.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

More specifically, I believe that Bo Fai is the driest place in Thailand. We make downtown Hua Hin look like Bangaldesh. :butt:

More like Venice in the good old days.
Still remember the rapids down Poonsuk Road before Tessaban tamed the river. :D

I don't know how strong this will be when it gets here, but odds are there will be a lot of rain involved. Looks as if it's on line for me, then across the gulf to HH. I'll update as new developments/direction is issued. Pete

Yes, unfortunately. I was there, on Boracay, in 1989 for a small one. The thatched roof of the bungalow I was in was blown off in the middle of the night and spent the rest of the night under the bed. No place else to go as all the buildings had thatched roofs then and all got damaged.

Anyway, at dawn it was heading off west over the ocean as the sun was coming up behind it from the east. Truly a spectacular sight seeing the blue sky behind this huge straight wall of sunlit black clouds heading off into the distance.

Hopefully it won't happen but if this storm is still formed and heads for HH, you'll have the same sort of show from the front end as it approaches over the Gulf. Pete

This thing seems to be slowing down and turning south. If it makes it to the Gulf it looks like it will go towards Koh Samui, not HH. Pete

Must be something else Richard. The storm is still pretty far away per the below. Pete

The Nation paper said it got down to 9C in Chiang Mai last night. Maybe some cold front moving in from the north. My weather reading has taught me that when a high pressure system moves in and pushes out a low pressure system, it causes clear skies and wind. Or, it could be a lost Halloween peeee! Pete

They have this storm tracking further north now per the below computer model. Let's hope it dies somewhere over Cambodia. Pete
