if I had my way I'd personally crucify the manager on those black poles in the MV forecourt after stubbing two fags out in his eyes for killing all the pleasure of a flea pit. He is the most deliberately ignorant and insulting twat Ive ever had the pleasure of smiling at.
Give the cinema to me and HH would enjoy whole festivals of international cinema joy joy with subititles and original soundtracks. With the normal blockbusters you would have examples of the finest cinema Asia does provide...but we get F all of here. Kurosawa weeks, Slapstick comedy weeks, even a frickin Mr Bean retrospective.

ok so not the best of all possible worlds. movie we saw was lame to nth degree. had big farang subtitles so i could follow story. [edited by moderator] . what's up with that? still and all kids enjoyed it and at 60baht to pleasent afternoon. [edited by moderator ]. me thinks that if we could understand what's on tv with all those ladyboy shows we would be quivvering under the bed with our asses slamed tight to the wall.

The deal is that if you're smart you'd run a majority of the films in pure Thai language and then a portion in English language. In this way you're keeping in with the demographics of Hua Hin rather than believing that the white man is an invisible entity...dahobbit wrote:At first, they did run some features in English, and/or subtitle in same.
Not many people went. My guess is that management decided there was no percentage in catering to farang and alienating the Thai kids who do buy movie tickets. Since then, it's been non-stop Thai-only. Sigh.
You'd hardly lose a thing as more and more farang hear of the cinema running English language films you'd make up the small loss over time...
