Banks in Hua Hin

Post by cheng »

Hi
Any of you have experience with a bank in Hua Hin that has web or net bank facilities? We're thinking in terms of easy online bank transfer from overseas bank. We're also considering about paying bills (electricity, water, etc.) online.

Would appreciate any advice - for and against. Thanks.

My wife set up internet account with Kasikorn and Bangkok Bank...bit of a head ache, I must say took 2 hours in BB and 20 mins in Kasikorn. Had to open seperate accounts back then (Dec 2007).

We live in Australia and found no problems really just go in and create the account.

Hi Cheng

I have used the Bank of AYUDHYA (Yellow Sign) located everywhere for the past 4 yrs very good!

Just need passport to register as new customer and obviously some money to credit your new account. They will assit you with the On line banking.

Tell the bank that you want to transfer funds from your home country bank account to thailand and they will give you all the details, address swift code, etc.

You can also set up a direct debit with the utility compnaies by visiting them and returning the paperwork to the bank. When you visit them
take supporting documents, old bills, house docs, company papers IF the utility bills are NOT in your name. If this is the case take someone that talks Thai it will help.

Takes about 6 weeks to go automatic. Ive had no problems with this but obviously keep an eye on it!

Hi Cheng
I use both Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn. But for payments and transfers to other peoples accounts I only use Kasikorn since they have an extra security code (PIN 2) which you have to use to transfer money. In Bangkok Bank, you can transfer any amount to any registered account as soon as you are logged in, which in my opinion is to low a security level. None of the banks use keyfiles etc. Kasikorn also offers an SMS approval option, but it is often not working from abroad.

Kasikorn for us also. Easy to access from US, and appears proper security.

Kasikorn for all the above plus very good English speakers if you need to call from abroad.

I've very good experience of Kasikorn past 10 years. Whatever bank you choose open your a/c in the branch
that is present in Market Village. You'll get all the services plus extended service hours.
