Post by PeteC »

This is getting a lot of Press this morning. If they keep highlighting it, they just may change their mind and indeed blockade it. Pete

Pete they don't actually need to blockade the airport, for there to be the potential for chaos for travellers.

If things get out of hand, as these things have a habit of doing, then it is bound to affect many people.

The UFDD has, IMHO, just by choosing to stage this "rally" on the main access route to Swampy, told the Government, that they could do the same as the PAD party supporters did in 2008 and bring the main international airport to it's knees.

There must be other, less obstructive venues, where they could stage this rally but then that would not hold such an implied threat to the present PM and his cabinet would it.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

When i went through the airport in October and November twice, there was a notice on the lift that the demonstation on the top floor was not political, what was all that about. ?

The problem is by the time the grape vine by word of mouth in moor than 10 languages , has gone around the world the airport will be reported shut and running battles in the street, and the tourist industry in Thailand will have been dealt a serious blow.

You have to laugh at a situation so farcical that one group wants to blockade an airport in protest at another group who blockaded the airport ... only in Thailand!
