Super 14 predictions

Post by Arcadian »

Great to watch the Super 14`s on tv, only thing is I can`t tell where the bloody teams come from when they all have nicknames. So we are off to Sydney in April and have asked Mr and Mrs Arcadian junior to fix us up with a game, seems they support Warrathars.

Well done in round 2 BigBoy.

That yellow cap fits very nicely, doesn't it.

Have just put my tips in for the next two rounds.

I'm off to HH for golfing fun and get back on March 7th.

Good luck to all. I will certainly need some.

Yes, not a bad fit. What does it mean please? If it's something good as I suspect, I definitely don't deserve it.

I've just made my selections for next week, and when I went to see how different they were to 'those of you who know' I seem to be in with a bunch of strangers ie

Can the rest of you see my predictions, or have I slipped into another group? If I have, how do I correct it please?

On the left below your pic there is a small drop down menu. You have to select 'HHAD' group.

Prob find we haven't made our picks yet...

I've found them now, thanks :thumb: Don't know why I was only finding strangers first time around.

Oz has already made his picks, and judging by his overall league position, I guess my method of choosing a name I like, rather than considering rugby ability is still working - we've picked the same team all of the way through :D

Althoug Blues centre Isaia Toeava looks set to miss the next few weeks of rugby as he struggles with a nerve injury in his buttock............ questionable injury!

And the "Yellow Cap" goes to Pete..... :cuss: Bugger it!

Congrats Pete

Just be sure to remember (and that also goes for the rest of you) that there's plenty of time for me to catch up!!! :D

I guess unfortunately it also leaves plenty of time for me to fall further behind........

So I get the dunces cap. I am already in the corner facing the wall

That is the beauty of the game or should I say one of the beauties of the game. Its unpredictabilty when not only skill and tactics come into play but also the passion and patriotism. Unlike football, golf and tennis it is not ruled by any one single team or player and not driven by greed and money.

Having played the game for 18 years in my youth I think (sorry thought) I know enough about the game. At my school rugby and cricket were more important than A-levels and they were driven by passion and school pride in rival school games. A sporting spirit reigned and it believe it or not benefits individuals when going out into the world. Maybe sadly, it has all gone now.

Incidentally many at my school who got their colours for a sport got places in Oxford and Cambridge universities because of their sporting prowess.

Even the big banks in London moved competent rugby, cricket and rowing staff to London to join the banks teams in London. Henley was a great event for banks to show their rivalry in rowing. I was proud enough to represent National Provincial bank in an 8 at Henley regatta

There is always next year    in the meantime I will leave my laptop and go back into my corner. Not sure this is better than 6 with the cane :D

I would like to thank the academy etc., etc. Like BB being the only one to pick the Reds last week, I picked the Highanders this week, as I have to sometimes out of conscience as they're my selected home team. :D I wish I would have picked my other home team, Ireland, this week as well. :( Pete
